Girls Soccer Notebook: Chapel Hill’s Clara Brown takes weekly honor

Chapel Hill goalkeeper Clara Brown has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Girls Soccer Player of the Week honors for games played Jan. 6-11.
Brown registered 31 saves in wins over Nacogdoches and Spring Hill for the Lady Bulldogs.
“She has kept us into many games by throwing her body on the line and making some big saves for the team,” Chapel Hill head girls soccer coach Haley Collins said.
In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):
Bishop Gorman’s Andrea Munoz had three goals for the Lady Crusaders.
In the Lethal Soccer Regional Rankings, Tyler Legacy No. 17 and Longview No. 21 in Class 6A Region II; and Bullard No. 7, Pine Tree No. 8, Mabank No. 12, Henderson No. 13, Palestine No. 14, Kilgore No. 15, Athens No. 17, Pleasant Grove No. 18, Spring Hill No. 20, Chapel Hill No. 22, Paris No. 24 and Lindale No. 25 in Class 4A Region II.
East Texas teams ranked in the Texas Girls Coaches Association rankings is Gladewater No. 4 in 4A.
