An East Texas business is helping commercial kitchens stay in tip-top shape with their cleaning services.

Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions, owned by James and Cara Williamson, will celebrate three years in business next month and offers a variety of kitchen cleaning services including Commercial Kitchen Fryer management with Micro Filtration, Filta Drain and Filta Cool.

Cara Williamson said Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions services several types of businesses including grocery store, restaurants, and more.

“We go into commercial kitchens, single and chain restaurants but also in hospitals, hotels, groceries, universities, casinos, business facilities and stadiums to provide oil, clean fryers and micro-filter the oil to make it last up to two times longer, then remove the waste oil and ensure it is recycled for biodiesel fuel,” she said.

Williamson said the couple started the company as a way to support local business through their service.

“My husband and I wanted to open a local business that supports commercial kitchens in the greater East Texas area which adds value to their business, reduces staff risk and supports environmental sustainability,” she said.

Some of Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions’ more recognizable clients include UT Health, Texas College, Tyler Junior College, The Diner and Eagle Bluff Country Club, among others.

Williamson explained the micro-filtration process and how it is beneficial to commercial kitchens.

“Through the use of a mobile filtration unit, we micro-filter cooking oil at the 3-to-5-micron level which substantially increases the life cycle of the oil. During the micro-filtration process, we perform a professional deep cleaning of the fryer then return the filtered oil to the fryer,” she said. “Once the oil has reached its end-of-life cycle we have the waste oil processed into bio-diesel.”

“In addition, we offer a drain maintenance service, Filta Drain, which incorporates natural microorganisms which consume organics commonly found in kitchen drains resulting in clean drains and the absence of drain flies and odors,” Williamson said. “Filta Cool is a cooler moisture control service which removes moisture from kitchen coolers resulting in extended produce life.”

Williamson went on to say the couple is so passionate about serving the local community that they don’t require contracts but relying on the quality of their service.

“We are proud to serve our community with old fashioned values. As an example; we don’t believe in contracts, we believe that if we can add value to our local business partners, a contract is unnecessary,” she said. “We are only as good as our last service. As a local small business, we want to enjoy this wonderful part of East Texas with our community.”

Williamson said she is also a proud employer offering good paying jobs to support local economy.

“Since we live here it is important to us that we provide good paying jobs. We currently have five employees and are always looking for good people — support the local economy while benefiting the environment and keeping East Texas beautiful through our environmentally sustainable service,” she said.

Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions’ region covers most of East Texas but currently actively services Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Tyler, Jacksonville, Bullard, Henderson, and Athens with plans to expand in the community throughout the East Texas commercial kitchen market.
