Lady Lions win over Pine Tree

The Tyler Lady Lions scored a five-set thriller over Pine Tree on Tuesday in a District 15-5A volleyball match at the Lions Den.

The Lady Lions won 25-22, 21-25, 15-25, 25-22, 15-8.



Leaders for Tyler were Zaniah Johnson (1 ace, 18 kills, 2 blocks), Maliyah Jones (27 assists, 1 ace, 9 digs), Tajia Hambrick (4 aces, 15 kills, 11 assists, 7 digs) and Makayla Taylor (20 Digs).

Tyler won the JV match 2-0 (25-18, 25-21).

Pine Tree captured the freshman match, 2-0 (25-8, 25-12).

The Lady Lions visit Mount Pleasant on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. match before returning home on Sept. 26 to face Texas High in a 6 p.m. match.

Pine Tree plays host to Marshall at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Longview.

Tyler Legacy splits district matches

The Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders split road matches.

On Friday, the Lady Raiders won over North Forney 3-0 in Forney, but fell at Mesquite Horn (3-1) on Tuesday.

TL defeated the Lady Falcons 25-22, 27-25, 25-19.

Legacy leaders were Lexie Correa (4 aces, 24 assists, 8 digs), Taylor Woods (17 kills, 4 blocks), Kate Moore (7 digs), Kate Priest (6 digs) and Airelle Rollins (4 blocks).

Against the Lady Jaguars, the Lady Raiders lost, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Leading the Lady Raiders were Kinzie Parks (3 aces), Tharyn Buenaventura (7 kills), JaLee McKinley Flores (7 kills), Woods (14 kills), Correa (23 assists, 6 digs), Priest (11 digs) and Kate Moore (7 digs).

The Lady Raiders are home on Friday, hosting Mesquite.

Whitehouse splits matches

WHITEHOUSE — The Whitehouse LadyCats scored a 3-0 win over Marshall on Friday in a District 15-5A volleyball match at C.L. Nix Wildcat Arena.

Whitehouse won 25-12, 25-4, 25-14.

Some of the standouts for varsity were Ashley Rhame (5 aces, 17 assists), Camden Bizot (4 aces, 7 kills), Addison Fowler (7 kills) Kassidy Meyer (6 kills, 5 blocks) and Kylan Wedell (6 kills).

Whitehouse won the JV (25-15, 25-15) and ninth grade (25-9, 25-11) matches.

On Tuesday, Hallsville won over Whitehosue 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-13).

Some standouts for the LadyCats were Kylan Wedell (7 kills), Addison Fowler (6 kills, hitting .417) and Ella Reese (20 digs).

Whitehouse won the subvarsity matches — JV (25-23, 28-30, 28-26) and ninth grade (25-17, 25-17).

The LadyCats (22-10, 2-2) play host to Longview on Friday. Varsity will play first at 4:30 p.m. followed by our JV/9. It is also Whitehouse’s homecoming.

Brook Hill wins two

BULLARD — The Brook Hill Lady Guard evened their TAPPS 4A District 2 record at 2-2 with a 3-0 win over Waco Vanguard on Tuesday at Herrington Gymnasium.

The Lady Guard won 25-18, 25-14, 25-18.

Leading Brook Hill were: Gracie Dawson (10 digs, 18 kills, 1 ace), Julianna Mize (17 digs, 14 kills), Cassidy Clark (2 blocks, 2 kills, 35 assists), Kamryn Buske (2 blocks, 2 digs, 3 kills) and Brett Bellar (9 digs).

On Friday, the Lady Guard defeated All Saints, 3-1, at Brookshire Gym in Tyler.

BH won 27-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Brook Hill leaders were Mia Vrbova (6 blocks, 9 digs, 2 kills, 2 aces), Dawson (11 digs, 20 kills, 3 aces), Mize (22 digs, 14 kills), Clark (5 blocks, 7 digs, 2 kills, 38 assists) and Kamryn Buske (3 blocks, 4 digs, 3 kills).

Bullard 3, Sabine 1

LIBERTY CITY — The Bullard Lady Panthers scored a 3-1 win over the Sabine Lady Cardinals on Tuesday in a non-district volleyball match.

Bullard won 25-19, 25-7, 20-25, 25-21.

Leaders for the Lady Panthers were Campbell Clark (6 kills, 3 blocks), Sterling Cox (6 kills), Kalia Andres (5 kills), Julia Garrick (9 assists, 6 digs), Aubrey Norton (11 assists, 7 digs) and Riley Roberts (10 digs).

Bullard won the JV (25-19, 25-10) and ninth grade (25-18, 25-16) matches.

The Lady Panthers open District 18-4A play on Friday, hosting Palestine at 4:30 p.m.

The Lady Cardinals begin District 15-3A action on Friday, hosting Gladewater at 4:30 p.m.

Lindale wins 2 district matches

The Lindale Lady Eagles won two District 16-4A volleyball matches.

On Friday, Lindale defeated Brownsboro 3-1 in Lindale. On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles won at Mabank, 3-0.

Lindale won 25-14, 25-16, 21-25, 25-10 over the Bearettes.

Leading Lindale were Addison Ridge (14 kills), Maddox Lay (13 kills), Reagan Cates (11 kills), Libero Reagan Hope (13 defensive digs), Kayli Vickery (6 blocks), setter Macy Luster (23 assists) and Tatum Woodard (20 assists).

Junior Varsity also came out victorious with a score of 25-17 in both sets. JV Lady Eagle leaders were Emory Schmidt (14 service points, 6 assists), Clara Helvey (12 assists, 12 digs), Brooke Gissell (5 kills, 2 blocks), Maddy Fowble (5 kills, 1 block), Lauren Stanton (3 kills, 4 digs), Kenlie Collins (3 kills, 2 digs), Keirsan Sanders (2 kills, 1 ace), Holli Dunn (11 digs) and Bayleigh Yarbrough (5 digs).

The Lady Eagles Frosh A team won 25-18, 25-11. Pacing Lindale were Kaidance Smith (served 10 straight points, 7 assists), Grace Koustoubardis (11 assists), Kimber Simpson (8 consecutive service points), Kennedy Terry (8 digs), Emma Watkins, Jordyn Weesner, and Cambry Andreason all added a block for the Lady Eagles.

Lindale won over Mabank 25-12, 25-14, 25-21.

Lindale leaders were Ridge (9 kills, 9 digs), middle blocker Cates (7 kills), Ella Hutchens (6 kills), Lay (6 kills), Callie Schmidt (6 digs), Woodard (17 assists) and Luster (3 assists).

The Lady Eagles are 4-0 in district and 25-7 on the season. Next stop is Canton at 4 p.m. on Friday. Sub-varsity follows the varsity match.

The JV Lady Eagles won in two sets, 25-20, 25-19. Fowble (6 kills), Collins (5 kills), Gissell (3 kills, 1 block), Helvey (12 assists, 1 ace) and Schmidt (6 assists).

Lindale’s Freshman A team won in three sets. Leaders were Watkins (3 kills), Weesner (7 points), Koustoubardis (6 service points, 12 assists), Simpson (6 service points) and Kaidance Smith (8 assists).

Mineola 3, Gladewater 0

MINEOLA — The Mineola Lady ‘Jackets defeated the Gladewater Lady Bears on Tuesday in a non-district match.

Mineola won 25-21, 25-16, 25-12.

Leading the Lady ‘Jackets were Mahayla McMahon (19 kills, 11 digs), Jadelyn Marshall (8 kills, 3 blocks), Kali Chrietzberg (7 kills), Carmen Carrasco (8 digs), Macy Fischer (6 aces) and Trinadee Jackson (34 assists).

Mineola opens District 13-3A play on Friday, traveling to Mount Vernon for a 4:30 p.m. match.

Edgewood 3, Rains 0

EMORY — The Edgewood Lady Bulldogs scored a 3-0 win over the Rains Lady Cats on Tuesday in a District 12-3A match.

Edgewood won 25-12, 25-23, 25-18.

Leaders for the Lady Bulldogs were Kassidy Paul (10 kills, 3 blocks), Bailey Brooks (8 kills, 15 digs), Avery Simmons (5 kills), Grace Cates (4 kills, 3 blocks, 11 digs), Trinity Hale (15 digs, 4 assists), Brilee Ditto (12 digs), Kagan Grant (10 digs) and Khrissalyn Prince (18 assists).

The Lady Cats (11-16, 2-1) were led by Jasey Campbell (9 kills, 10 assists, 17 digs), Emma Patterson (8 Kills, 5 Digs) and Courtney Ferrell (12 digs).

The Lady Cats return to action on Friday as they play host to Prairiland.

Hawkins 3, Tyler HEAT 1

HAWKINS — The Hawkins Lady Hawks defeated Tyler HEAT 25-18, 25-17, 20-25, and 25-21 to round out their pre-season schedule.

Taetum Smith recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 18 digs to help lead the Lady Hawks to a victory. Smith also added six kills. Alaya Scoggins and Skylar Murray combined for 22 kills, 12 and 10, respectively. Scoggins also added six blocks. Londyn Wilson added six kills for Hawkins.

Defensively, Jentri Evans and Alana Gibson both picked up seven digs a piece. Elle Frazier added five digs.

Hawkins opens District 19-2A play on Friday at Union Grove. The first serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Troup 3, Jefferson 0

JEFFERSON — The Troup Lady Tigers won 3-0 over the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday in a District 16-3A volleyball match.

The Lady Tigers won 25-10, 25-11, 25-12.

Leading Troup were Emory Cover (5 kills, 2 aces, 4 digs), Zaquirah Jordan (4 kills, 1 block), Shiloh Sluder (6 kills), Chloie Haugeber (4 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs), Qhenja Jordan (3 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks, 3 digs, 13 assists), Bailey Blanton (8 kills, 2 aces, 1 blocks, 5 digs), Georgia Ray (1 ace, 1 dig), Payton Wells (1 block, 10 digs) and Chayne Graves (1 dig, 8 assists).

Troup visits Arp at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Arp 3, Quitman 1

QUITMAN — The Lady Tigers of Arp captured a District 16-3A volleyball win over the Quitman Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Arp won 3-1 (25-11, 11-25, 25-12, 25-17).

Lady Tiger leaders were Addison Carpenter (1 ace, 22 assists, 8 digs), Lucy Hopson (1 kill, 7 digs), Allee McCollum (12 digs), Aubrey Poole (3 kills, 1 dig, 2 blocks), Lacy Fletcher (3 aces, 1 kill, 4 digs, 1 block), Landry Langley (1 ace, 2 kills, 5 digs), Sydné Garrett (2 kills, 1 dig) and Maddie Birdsong (2 aces, 17 kills, 6 digs).

Arp plays host to Troup at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
