DPS: Frankston woman dead after crash with semi-truck in Smith County

SMITH COUNTY — An East Texas woman died this weekend in a two-vehicle crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Danica L. Maclin, 36, of Frankston, died in the crash which occurred around 9:05 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 155 South, about a half mile from FM 2661 in Smith County.

Maclin was driving south on 155 when she lost control of her vehicle, according to DPS preliminary investigation. She crossed into oncoming traffic in the other lane and hit a semi-truck. Maclin was ejected from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt, DPS said.

Leonard G. Ireri, 49, of Houston, was driving the semi. He was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured, according to DPS.

Maclin was pronounced dead on the scene, DPS said. 



Road conditions were dry and the weather was clear.
