Tyler Legacy freshman Maddry East was 75th in the Class 6A girls race with a time of 19:11.8 at the UIL Cross Country State Championships Saturday at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.

Canton’s Miguel Arce was 22nd in the Class 4A boys race with a time of 16:24.6. Other area runners were Canton’s Kevin Velasquez, 24th, 16:29.8; Van’s Isaiah Colorado, 35th, 16:43.4; Jacksonville’s Sebastian Juarez, 58th, 17:01.5; Bullard’s Brayden Vining, 67th, 17:12.3; Athens’ Jose Vazquez, 73rd, 17:15.8; Lindale’s Dax Allen, 81st, 17:22.4; Chapel Hill’s Sebastian Medina, 97th, 17:40.7; and Cumberland Academy’s Abel Solorio, 107th, 17:49.1.

The Lindale girls placed 12th and the Bullard girls placed 14th in the Class 4A girls race. Area runners in the Class 3A boys race were Winona’s Miguel Cedillo, 17th, 16:43.9; Winona’s Kason Miles, 25th, 16:56.0; and Winnsboro’s Brandon Dunavant, 69th, 17:39.5.

Mineola placed 16th in the Class 3A girls race. Runners were Olivia Hughes, 77th, 13:10.8; Raylie Peebles, 103rd, 13:32.5; Brianna Palacious, 104th, 13:33.8; Caroline Castleberry, 111th, 13:37.9; Emily Vega, 136th, 14:24.2; Yareli Hernandez, 137th, 14:26.1; and Audrina Galaz, 140th, 14:33.4. Troup’s Kambry Nelson was 101st in a time of 13:30.0.

New Summerfield placed eighth in the Class 2A boys race. Runners were Raul Munoz, 23rd, 17:06.0; Andres Ornelas, 39th, 17:23.3; Jovanny Hernandez, 88th, 18:20.6; Brayden Lueckemeyer, 89th, 18:21.1; Axel Hernandez, 92nd, 18:25.2; Bryan Zavala, 102nd, 18:41.9; and Alessandro Garcia, 117th, 19:22.8.

Union Grove finished 16th in the Class 2A girls race. Runners were Sophie Pyle, 84th, 13:29.6; Ava Wightman, 114th, 13:55.7; Danica Vestal, 117th, 14:05.5; Rachel Potter, 134th, 14:32.5; Jenna Scott, 140th, 14:54.8; Averi Cook, 143rd, 15:07.7; and Gracelyn Head, 144th, 15:31.5. LaPoynor’s Savanna Thaw was 72nd with a time of 13.20.3.

Slocum’s Nathan Marr was 73rd in the Class 1A boys race with a time of 19:04.1. Slocum’s Caleb Neal was 86th with a time of 19:27.4.

Neches was 13th in the Class 1A girls race. Runners were Joely Jenkins, 32nd, 13:13.90; Mattie Main, 34th, 13:16.40; Libby Raine, 130th, 15:27.00; Rachel Fletcher, 132nd, 15:41.40; Lacie Macias, 133rd, 15:53.60; Aubrey Kincade, 137th, 16:37.80; and Addison Spaith, 143rd, 17:38.30.
