Tyler Legacy’s girls soccer team went 1-2 in the Georgetown Tournament.
In the opener, the Lady Raiders trailed 1-0 until the final 17 minutes and scored three goals late to take a 3-1 win over Harlingen.
Harlingen scored its goal with 4a:57 left in the first half.
Lily Beckham tied the match with a goal with 16:38 left on an assist by Bella McNeil. Bryleigh Gamble then gave legacy a 2-1 lead with 13:58 on the clock with an assist by Megan Wilhite. Beckham added an insurance goal with 5:13 to play on an assist by Brianna Garcia.
Legacy then dropped a 2-1 decision to 2023 Class 6A state champion Flower Mound Marcus. Beckham scored the lone goal for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders fell in the tournament finale to 2024 Class 5A state champion Frisco Wakeland in a 3-0 decision. The score was 0-0 at halftime.
“They are the best team we’ve played all year, maybe the best in the state,” Tyler Legacy girls soccer coach Chris Woodard said. “We played well and fought hard. Lily hit the post twice and was unlucky she didn’t get one or two. I am very proud of how hard our girls played this weekend. We have much to build on.”
Legacy will open District 10-6A play Friday at Forney.
BULLARD 3, LINDALE 1
LINDALE — Bullard won its District 14-4A opener over Lindale, 3-1.
Junior Paige Barrett scored two goals for the Lady panthers, and sophomore Charley Whitehead added a goal.
Whitehead also assisted on both goals by Barrett. Aubrey Kuehle, Alexis Flynn and Rylie Graul were other offensive/midfield standouts, while defensive standouts were Conleigh Waldrop and Cadence Graul.
Bullard (4-1, 1-0) will host Chapel Hill at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
BOYS
TYLER LEGACY 3, FRISCO REEDY 3
FRISCO — The Red Raiders played to a 3-3 draw with Frisco Reedy on Saturday.
Scoring goals for the Red Raiders were Axel Ruben, Juan Felix and Braer LeBlanc. Jaron Wilkerson, LeBlanc and Ruben had the assists.
Legacy (6-1-1) will host Forney in the district opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
