LONGVIEW — Isiah Mayfield and Jordyn Bradshaw had double doubles to power the No. 17 Chapel Hill Bulldogs to a 77-47 win over Spring Hill on Friday in a District 16-4A basketball game.

Bradshaw had 12 points (1 3-pointer) and 13 rebounds, while Mayfield had 11 points and 12 rebounds.



Chapel Hill improves to 21-4 overall and 5-0 in district. The Panthers 10-15 and 1-4.

Others contributors for the Bulldogs were Marquis Collins II (14 points), Trevor Brooks (13 points, 1 3-pointer), Jorden Ford (8 points), Malik Gee (5 points, 1 3-pointer), Anthony Smith (4 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks), Dee Brisbon (3 points, 1 3-pointer), Jeremy Harper (3 points), Ryder Steele (2 points) and Brylon Allen (2 points).

The Bulldogs return to play on Tuesday at Kilgore with the first games beginning at 4:30 p.m. Spring Hill hosts Gilmer on Tuesday.

MOUNT PLEASANT 56, TYLER 39

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Mount Pleasant Tigers scored a 56-39 win over the Tyler Lions on Saturday in a District 10-5A basketball game.

The contest was originally scheduled for Friday, but was moved due to possible inclement weather.

The Tigers improve to 18-4 overall and 7-1 in district, while the Lions fall to 14-9 and 4-4.

Jaishua Brown and Geordon Mitchell led the Lions with 11 points apiece. Adding points for Tyler were Keiland Garvey (9), Tayvean McMiller (6) and Jasyn Grayson (2).

Hitting 3-pointers were Garvey (3) and Mitchell (2).

The Lions were 4 of 8 from the free throw line.

Reggie Webster led the Tigers with 16 points, while Zeke Hill (14) and A’shad Smith (11) were also in double figures. Carter Chism (9), Tanner Marshall (3) and Ajayden Hurdon (3) also scored for MP.

Connecting on 3-pointers were Hill (4), Smith (2), Marshall (1) and Chism (1).

The Tigers were 14 of 18 from the free throw line.

The Lions are scheduled to return to play on Tuesday, hosting the Marshall Mavericks to begin the second round of district. The girls game is slated to begin 6:15 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.

ATHENS 59, CANTON 47

CANTON — The Athens Hornets captured a 59-47 win over the Canton Eagles on Friday in a District 15-4A basketball game.

Athens improves to 15-8 overall and 4-0 in district, while the Eagles fall to 13-10 and 3-2.

Kaden Smith led the Eagles with 23 points He had four 3-pointers.

Adding points for Canton were Colton Bell (9), Ethan Lewis (5), Mason Huson (5), Nash Fenner (3) and Brady Lewis (2).

Others hitting 3-pointers were Bell (3), Lewis (1) and Huson (1).

The Hornets are scheduled to visit Mabank on Tuesday and Canton is slated to host Brownsboro on Tuesday.

TATUM 79, TROUP 50

TROUP — In a matchup of District 16-3A teams, the Tatum Eagles scored aa 79-50 win over the Troup Tigers on Friday.

The Eagles improve to 18-2 overall and 4-0 in district, while the Tigers fall to 16-6 and 2-2.

Carter Graves (16 points) and Braxton Barton (15 points) led the Tigers in scoring. Other points were scored by Bryce McElroy (9), Keenan Foster (4), Carson Davenport (3) and Caden Graves (3).

Troup had nine 3-pointers — Carter Graves (4), McElroy (3), Caden Graves (1) and Davenport (1).

The Tigers were 5 of 8 from the free throw line and the Eagles were 10 of 10.

Luke Sigler led the Eagles with 24 points. He was followed by Jacorie Bradley (17), Jordah Chambers (15), Cooper Whiteus (8), Nalayus Boyd (8), Cayden Tatum (5) and Quincy Davis (2).

Hitting 3-pointers were Sigler (2), Tatum (1), Chambers (1) and Whiteus (1).

Troup plays host to White Oak on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.

Tatum visits White Oak on Jan. 17.

CENTER 69, BULLARD 57

CENTER — The Center Roughriders rallied in the fourth quarter to score a 69-57 win over the Bullard Panthers on Saturday in a District 17-4A basketball game.

The Panthers led 43-41 after the third quarter, but the Roughriders pulled away in the final period.

Layne Alexander led Bullard with 23 points, including five 3-pointers. Others scoring for the Panthers were Caden Cummings (10), Drake Thigpen (7), Campbell Pawlak (4), Dylan Kress (4), Cade Craig (4), Luke Alexander (3) and Tyler Lamberth (2).

Adding 3-pointers were Cummings (2), Luke Alexander (1) and Thigpen (1).

Tim Johnson led Center with 26 points. He was followed by TJ Belin Jr. (13), J.A. Smith (13), Tiki Robinson (9), Caleb Mosley (5), Carson Bush (2) and JaKalen Barnes (1).

The Panthers (15-8, 0-1) are scheduled to play at Palestine on Tuesday. Center (11-6, 1-0) visits Rusk on Tuesday.
