Tyler Legacy’s Ja’Corian Oes has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Boys Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Feb. 3-8.

Oes finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds, going 10 of 14 from the field and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line in a 59-55 road win over Rockwall-Heath.



With the victory, the Red Raiders are one win away from clinching the District 10-6A championship outright.

In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):

Grace Community’s Peyton Kelly averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, including scoring 26 points in a playoff-clinching win over Brighter Horizons.

Van’s Caden Rowe averaged 24.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in wins over Lindale and Kemp.

Canton’s Kaden Smith averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists, including having 31 points, five rebounds, four assists and just one turnover in the Eagles’ playoff-clinching victory at Brownsboro.

Athens junior E’Manuel Moore averaged 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while going 15 of 16 from the free-throw line in wins over Canton and Mabank to help the Hornets move to 11-0 in District 15-4A.

Alto’s Jamarion Rollins averaged 24.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in wins over New Summerfield (84-52) and Mount Enterprise (59-57).
