Boys Basketball: Chapel Hill tops Spring Hill, Hallsville stops Lions

LONGVIEW — The No. 25 Chapel Hill Bulldogs defeated the Spring Hill Panthers 77-18 on Tuesday in a District 16-4A basketball game.
It was the sixth straight win for the Bulldogs, improving to 27-5 overall and 11-1 in district. The Panthers fell to 10-22 and 1-11.

Marquis Collins (22 points), Trevor Brooks (18), Jorden Ford (14) and Jordyn Bradshaw (14) were all in double figures scoring for the Bulldogs.
Also scoring for CH were Jeremy Harper (4), Ryder Steele (3) and Malik Gee (2).
Hitting 3-pointers were Collins (2), Brooks (2), Ford (1), Steele (1), Bradshaw (1) and Harper (1).
Bradshaw had a double double by grabbing 10 rebounds.
Collins added five steals and dished out eight assists.
Chapel Hill returns to play on Friday, hosting the Kilgore Bulldogs for Senior Night. Games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with varsity slated to tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

HALLSVILLE 62, TYLER 47
HALLSVILLE — Jaishua Brown scored 26 points for Tyler, but Hallsville pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 62-47 District 10-5A victory.
The win clinched a playoff berth for the Bobcats for the fifth consecutive season.
The game was tied at 26-26 at halftime and Hallsville led 40-38 entering the fourth quarter.
Hallsville is 24-9 overall and 10-5 in district. The Lions are 17-12 and 7-7.
Also scoring for the Lions were Geordon Mitchell (12), Tayvean McMiller (5), Keiland Garvey (4) and Damien Yarbrough (2).
Brown and McMiller had 3-pointers for Tyler.
Grayson Magestro had 20 points for Hallsville. David Baliraine added 14, Kyeson Lewis 10, LV Williams eight, Gabriel Moore five, Kobe Gaut four and Camron Bean one.
Williams had a trey for the Bobcats.
Tyler was 16 of 25 at the free throw line and Hallsville was 23 of 30.
Tyler returns to play on Friday, traveling to Texarkana to meet the Texas High Tigers in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. The Lions host Mount Pleasant on Feb. 11.
Hallsville has a bye Friday before hosting Texas High on Feb. 11.
BULLARD 57, MADISONVILLE 54
MADISONVILLE — Caden Cummings hit a game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds remaining to lift Bullard to a 57-54 win over Madisonville.
Cummings finished with 9 points.
Tyler Lamberth led Bullard with 16 points, and Layne Alexander had 15 points.
PINE TREE 57, CARTHAGE 41
LONGVIEW — The Pine Tree Pirates clinched a playoff spot in District 16-4A with a 57-41 win over Carthage on Tuesday at the Pirate Center.
Josh Fuller had 12 points, three steals and four rebounds for the Pirates. Jordan Taylor added 10 points, five assists, six rebounds and two steals, Decorian Dietz 10 points, Trent Fowler seven points, four assists and five rebounds and Jaeden Williams seven points, two steals and two rebounds.
Carthage received a team-best nine points from both Jay Lewis and Leo Brown and seven points from Bryston Price in the loss.
TATUM 92, TROUP 47
TATUM — Jordan Chambers paced a balanced Tatum scoring attack with 26 points, and the No. 2 ranked Eagles rolled to a 92-47 District 16-3A win over Troup.
JaCorie Bradley added 22 points for the Eagles. Luke Sigler chipped in with 17, Cayden Tatum and Cooper Whiteus eight apiece, Nalayus Boyd six and Quincy Davis five.
WHITE OAK 46, WEST RUSK 39
WHITE OAK — Scotty Breitenberg scored 21 points, Campbell Sutton knocked down five 3-pointers on the way to a 19-point night and the White Oak Roughnecks earned a 46-39 District 16-3A win over West Rusk.
Mac Smith had five points and Keenan Jalomo one for White Oak. Sutton also collected seven rebounds as the Roughnecks moved to 10-20 overall and 4-6 in district play.
The White Oak JV posted a 38-22 win over West Rusk.
SABINE 87, GLADEWATER 61
LIBERTY CITY — Hudson McNatt dropped in 33 points, Dalton Taylor added 16 for the Cardinals and Sabine earned an 87-61 District 16-3A win over Gladewater on Tuesday.
London Overturf finished with 11 points for the Cardinals, who led 24-9 after one quarter and 40-16 at halftime.
JEFFERSON 72, HARMONY 46
JEFFERSON — Travis Gray led three Bulldogs into double figures with 20 points, and No. 9 ranked Jefferson notched a 72-46 win over Harmony in District 13-3A action.
Chris Love finished with 11 points and Kyrie Johnson added 10 for Jefferson, which led 26-5 after one quarter and 38-15 at halftime.
Kaden Parish finished with eight points for Jefferson, Jason Webster had seven, Avery Lawson six, Zion Frazier and Chance Washington four apiece and Jeramaine Hopkins two.
CENTER 65, PALESTINE 59
CENTER — Four Roughriders scored in double figures, led by Travis Belin’s 15 points, and Center earned a 65-59 win over Palestine on Tuesday.
Caleb Mosley and JaKevin Robinson scored 12 points apiece, and Jimmarion Smith chipped in with 11 for the Roughriders. Carson Bush had six points, Ja’Kaeden Rodgers four, Tim Johnson and Jamarious Canton two each and JaKalen Barnes one. Smith added 13 rebounds, Robinson 10 and Belin eight. Belin led with four assists, and Johnson came away with five steals.
