Boys Soccer Notebook: Palestine’s Seby Ledesma, Ismael Gonzales take weekly honor

Palestine’s Seby Ledesma and Ismael Gonzales earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Boys Soccer Player of the Week honors for games played Feb. 3-8.

Ledesma and Gonzales each had five goals and two assists in wins over Hudson (5-1) and Palestine Westwood (8-0).



In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):

Bishop Gorman senior JJ Rodriguez scored two goals on headers from corner kicks as the Crusaders took a 2-1 win in overtime over All Saints.

In the Lethal Soccer State Rankings, Tyler Legacy is No. 11 in Class 6A; Mount Pleasant No. 16, Jacksonville No. 25 and Whitehouse No. 36 in Class 5A; and Kilgore No. 4, Palestine No. 7 and Pine Tree No. 20 in Class 4A.
