KILGORE — Kilgore Police Department and the Gregg County Organized Drug Enforcement landed a major drug bust and arrested a Kilgore man after serving a search warrant in Kilgore Tuesday.

KPD provided updates on the situation, which involved multiple law enforcement units serving a search warrant at a location on the corner of Martin and Houston Streets around noon Tuesday.

Alston Antwone Lee, 37, has been charged with:

• Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance from penalty group 1 in an amount greater than or equal to 400 grams. This charge carries a $100,000 bond.

• Possession of marijuana in an amount greater than 5 pounds but equal to or less than 50 pounds. This charge carries a $50,000 bond.

• Possession of a controlled substance from penalty group 2 greater than or equal to 400 grams. This charge carries a $75,000 bond.

• Possession of dangerous drugs. This charge carries a $10,000 bond.

According to information shared by KPD Wednesday, Lee will also face weapons charges for numerous firearms recovered during the arrest.

“We go after all drug dealers and vow to put them all in jail. This drug dealer was just down the road from KC and a daycare, and his weapons were loaded. Too often, drug dealers are targeted by others to steal their product and money. These home invasions often end in blood shed. This is just the type of case the Feds are looking for. He is afforded bond, but our intention is to have the Feds adopt the case and send him away for many years,” the department said in a post on social media.

“KPD Narcotics was working with the County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit,” KPD said in another post.

“They teamed up with our Proactive Community Engagement Team and served a drug warrant at a small apartment on Martin. Two persons were taken into custody. The target, a lone male, had been selling drugs in your city and apparently didn’t get the memo from KPD. Meth and guns get you serious times with the Feds.”

• 643 grams of methamphetamine

• 27.2 pounds of marijuana

• 7 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms)

• 10 grams of trazodone (prescription medication)
