Palestine three-star cornerback S’Vioarean Martin announced his commitment to Texas Tech live on Dave Campbell’s Texas Football YouTube channel on Thursday afternoon.
Martin put on the red Texas Tech hat that read “Wreck ‘Em” upside down as he chose the Red Raiders over Kansas State.
“It really started with head coach Coach (Joey) McGuire and trickled down to the coaching staff,” Martin said. “I like what Texas Tech is building. I like the environment and the culture. I got to spend time with some players, got some wisdom and knowledge form them, so I’m excited.

“They really rolled out the red carpet for me and family. They made us feel at home. That was our last OV (official visit). We really loved it.”
Martin had 15 total offers as the No. 7 cornerback in the state of Texas and the No. 36 cornerback nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Other offers were Houston, Oklahoma State, Baylor, SMU, Arizona, California, Coastal Carolina, Michigan State, North Texas, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Tulsa and UTEP.
As a junior, Martin had 40 tackles, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup, nine blocked kicks and a forced fumble. Offensively, he had 18 catches for 229 yards and two touchdowns in six games.
“They got the best corner in the class of 2026, who wouldn’t be excited?,” Martin said.
Martin and the Wildcats will open the 2025 season against Nacogdoches at Wildcat Stadium in Palestine.
