Igbokwe, Sanders earn top 16-4A honors

Carthage’s Kaylen Igbokwe received MVP, Spring Hill’s Elizabeth Corbitt was named Offensive MVP, Pine Tree’s Aaliyah Oliver and Chapel Hill’s R’Nyah Tomlinson were Co-Defensive MVP, and Spring Hill’s Calleigh Secord and Chapel Hill’s Lorena Taylor-Fuentes shared the Co-Sixth Man of the Year title when the 2024-2025 16-4A girls basketball all-district team was announced.

Igbokwe averaged 19.8 points, 14 rebounds, and 3.5 steals during the recently completed season to earn the title.


Other superlatives went to Kilgore’s Serenity Oliver (Newcomer of the Year) and Chapel Hill’s Tony Riley (Coach of the Year).

Voting was conducted by the district’s coaches.

Kilgore’s Jayden Sanders earned MVP and Pine Tree’s Darron Pair was named Newcomer of the Year when the 2024-2025 16-4A boys basketball all-district team was announced.

Sanders averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5 assists, 4.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for the Bulldogs.

Chapel Hill also produced Offensive MVP Marquis Collins, Defensive MVP Jorden Ford, Sixth Man of the Year Isiah Mayfield, and Coach of the Year Akimba Johnson.
