Linda Walker

TYLER — Linda Walker, aged 80, passed away on March 31, 2025, in Tyler, TX. Born on January 29, 1945, Linda spent her life in the community she loved, graduating from Chapel Hill High School in 1963.

Linda dedicated 25 years to Liberty Printing before her retirement. Her commitment to her work was paralleled by her devotion to her faith, as a long-standing member of New Life Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.

Linda’s life was marked by the deep connections she fostered with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Gary (Marla) Phillips, Cheryl (Johnny) Reece, Shelly (Chris) McClain, Ricky (Chris) Phillips, and step-daughters Karen Walker, Susan (Yancy) Miller, and Denise (Dave) Moreland. Her legacy also lives on through her sisters, Barbara Adams and Carolyn Davenport; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Walker; son, Donny Phillips; parents, C.O. & Etta Faye Anderson; and brothers, Chester and Shelton Anderson.

A gathering to honor Linda’s life will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather at 12 pm for visitation with the service following at 1 pm with Pastor Gary Vaughn & David Byrd, Linda’s Grandson, officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Red Hill Cemetery, Murchison, TX.

Pallbearers will be James Byrd, Jr., Steven Byrd, David Byrd, Jesse Loven, Garrett Byrd, Kaylon Waits, Myka Waits & JayCee Waits.

Linda’s presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Hospice of East Texas for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided to our mother in her final days. Their kindness and support brought comfort to both her and our family during this difficult time.
