Step back in time with vinyl record show, quilt display or cemetery tour this weekend in East Texas

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out this list of events and activities around East Texas.

Quilt & Embroidery Display, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 624 N. Broadway Avenue in Tyler (Goodman-LeGrand Museum). Starting on Saturday, visitors can step back in time at the Goodman-LeGrand Museum and marvel at quilts dating back to the 1830s. This will last until April 5. As a new addition this year, the museum has several vintage embroidery items. Admission is free but a suggested $3 donation helps keep the museum running. Tyler Vinyl Record and Comic Book Show, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 302 E. Locust St. in Tyler (Ye Olde City Antique Mall). Enjoy a buy, sell and trade show with collectors items, including vinyl records and comic books. Keep Tyler Green Cleanup Event, Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m., 8474 CR 485 in Tyler (Rose City Flying Clays). The Keep Tyler Green Cleanup event will focus on cleaning Texas College Road. Volunteers will meet at Rose City Flying Clays before walking to the area to clear trash and pollution. Participants should bring gloves, comfortable clothing, and extra cleanup supplies if available. The event is open to all and aims to involve the community in keeping Tyler clean. Be a Better Ally, Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m., 315 N. Broadway Avenue, Suite 100 in Tyler (Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce). The Glass House Resource Center will host a class to offer an opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding on how to support the LGBTQIA+ community. Tyler’s Got Talent: Semi-final Showcase, Friday, 7 p.m., 2453 Earl Campbell Parkway in Tyler (True Vine Brewing Company). TVBC will host the semi-finals of the first-ever Tyler’s Got Talent Competition under the Pavilion. The event begins at 7 p.m., with the audience voting open to select their favorite performances. Shop Owner Showcase, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., 8970 S. Broadway Avenue #144 in Tyler (Painted Tree Boutiques). The Painted Tree will host a day of shopping, community, and celebration. Attendees can browse hundreds of one-of-a-kind shops and enjoy sales. The event will feature live music, giveaways, and a chance to win a $100 Painted Tree gift card. Stories from Rose Hill: Women’s Edition, Saturday, 2 p.m., 2400 S. Donnybrook Avenue in Tyler (Rose Hill Cemetery). The Tyler Public Library will host a walkthrough of Rose Hill Cemetery, highlighting the stories of women who played pivotal roles in shaping Tyler’s history. Sprout and Share, Saturday, 10:30 — 11:30 a.m., 222 W. Coton Street in Longview (Longview Public Library). The Longview Public Library is launching a seed library in partnership with the Gregg County Master Gardeners Association, providing free access to vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. Designed to promote agricultural education and self-sufficiency, the initiative allows participants to “borrow” seeds to grow at home. Homebuyers Seminar, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1644 N. Eastman Road in Longview (Forest Park Middle School). Scotch Doubles 2025 Tournament Series, Saturday, 2 p.m., 210 E Methvin Street in Longview (903 Billiards). 903 Billiards kicks off its Scotch Doubles 2025 Tournament Series, a nine-month competition with cash prizes and a final championship event. The tournament is limited to the first 32 paid teams, with payouts for the top 25% and sponsorships adding to the prize pool. Spectators and players are welcome. Burgers and Bidding, Saturday, 6 p.m., 616 Cal Young Road in Hallsville (Hallsville High School). The Hallsville FFA Ag Boosters will host a Hamburger Supper and Auction to support the Hallsville FFA program and its scholarship recipients. The event will feature a meal and live and silent auctions with a variety of donated items, with proceeds benefiting local students pursuing agricultural education. Tickets are $15.
