Baseball tournaments on tap for weekend

Hallsville’s annual Reich Builders Classic highlights a busy final weekend of high school baseball tournaments.

Hallsville and Longview will compete in that event, along with Lindale, Liberty-Eylau, Pleasant Grove and Lewisville.



Pine Tree will compete in the Athens Tournament, and Spring Hill will play in the Kaufman County Classic.

Also on tap this weekend is the Bryan Warf Memorial in Tatum and, in softball, the Spring Hill JV Piney Woods Classic.

Thursday’s schedule has Lindale vs. Liberty-Eylau at 10 a.m., followed by Pleasant Grove vs. Longview at 12:15 p.m., Hallsville vs. Lindale at 2:30 p.m., Liberty-Eylau vs. Lewisville at 4:45 p.m. and Hallsville vs. Lewisville at 7 p.m.

Longview will take on Liberty-Eylau at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by Lewisville vs. Lindale at 12:15 p.m., Pleasant Grove vs. Liberty-Eylau at 2:30 p.m., Lewisville vs. Longview at 4:45 p.m. and Hallsville vs. Pleasant Grove at 7 p.m.

Four games are set for Saturday: Hallsville vs. Liberty-Eylau at 10 a.m., Pleaant Grove vs. Lewisville at 12:15 p.m., Pleasant Grove vs. Lindale at 2:30 p.m. and Hallsville vs. Longview at 4:45 p.m.

ATHENS

Pine Tree is scheduled to play twice on Thursday and once on Friday and Saturday.

The Pirates will take on Palmer at 3 p.m. and Fairfield at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Athens at 7 p.m. on Friday and Malakoff at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

West Rusk meets Mildred at 11 a.m. and Palmer at 1 p.m. n Thursday, Eustace at 3 p.m. on Friday and Malakoff at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Gilmer is scheduled to take on Malakoff at 11 a.m. and Mildred at 1 p.m. on Friday and Palmer at 5 p.m. and Athens at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

KAUFMAN COUNTY

Spring Hill meets China Spring at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, with the winner taking on either Cedar Hill or Crandall at 6:30 p.m. and the losers of those two games playing at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

TATUM

Thursday’s schedule at the Bryan Warf Memorial has Central Heights vs. Henderson at 9 a.m., Rusk vs. Harleton at 11:30 a.m., Diboll vs. New Diana at 2 p.m., New Diana vs. Tatum at 4:30 p.m. and Tatum vs. Marshall at 7 p.m.
