Tatum tops Jefferson

Jordan Chambers scored 20 points, JaCorie Bradley, Cooper Whiteus and Luke Sigler joined him in double figures and the Tatum Eagles rolled to a 70-42 win over the Jefferson Bulldogs in a Class 3A Division I Region II title bout at UT Tyler’s Herrington Patriot Center.

Tatum moves to 30-2 on the season, while Jefferson ends the year with a 28-5 record.



The teams met back in January, with Jefferson earning an 85-73 win in double overtime, but Friday the Eagles stormed out to a 24-2 lead after one quarter and the outcome was never in doubt.

The Eagles led 43-19 at halftime.

Whiteus and Sigler both scored 16 points, and Bradley finished with 14. Cayden Tatum chipped in with four points for the Eagles.

Chambers and Sigler both had eight points and Whiteus had five in the first frame for the Eagles.

Avery Lawson finished with nine points in the loss for Jefferson. Zion Frazier added seven, Jakyrie Johnson and Travis Gray six apiece, Jason Webster four, Cornell Nunn three, Kaden Parish, Chris Love and Jeramaine Hopkins two each and Chance Washington one.
