Bryan Winegeart, the former head volleyball coach at Tyler Legacy High School and All Saints Episcopal School, is returning to All Saints.

“The big thing that led me back there was family,” Winegeart said. “It gives me a chance to see my kids grow up and do things on a daily basis.

“Another thing if I feel like we can get that program turned back to what it was pretty quickly. We have a good district to compete in. And with the vision All Saints has with the new head of school (Mark Desjardins) and the new AD, Gretchen Mercer, investing in all programs, I’m excited about that part of it.”

Winegeart was at Legacy for six seasons.

The Lady Raiders went 17-22 overall and 2-10 in district this season, missing the postseason for the third consecutive year. Legacy advanced to the playoffs in Winegeart’s first three seasons in 2019-21.

Before arriving at Legacy, Winegeart was at All Saints for nine years, seven as the head volleyball coach. He led the Lady Trojans to undefeated district championships in 2016 and 2017.

“The familiarity definitely helps with the ease of getting back into things,” Winegeart said. “I’m thankful for my six years at Legacy. I’m a better and different coach. I learned lessons that I can take back to All Saints. I became a more mature and confident coach at Legacy.

Winegeart and his wife, Jennifer, have a son (Lincoln) and a daughter (Landry).
