TYLER — Patricia Ruth Tucker of Tyler Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 22, 2025. She died peacefully at her home, entering into glory with her Creator.
“Our loss, Heaven’s gain!”
Patricia was born June 15, 1931 in Campbell, Texas to Patrick and Lillie Harrigan, later moving to Pittsburgh where she attended school. She came from a large loving family, Accepting Jesus Christ as her savior as a young girl. She was the youngest of six graduating in 1948, from Pittsburgh high school where she was a drum majorette, also “Pittsburgh Pirates” fan and a loyal classmate with many lifelong friends. She met the love of her life, William B. Tucker while attending nursing school in Houston Texas they were set up on a blind date and history was made January 6, 1950. So the story goes in our family Bill said “He was going to California to work” and Pat said “I always wanted to go to California” so she said yes when he asked her to marry him and it proved to be a good decision. They shared 55 years of marriage. They were a dynamic duo, beautiful, passionate and compassionate both loyal to each other and family with a great work ethic and a love for God. Patricia was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church for over 50 years she was active in women’s ministry where she had the gift of hospitality, and love to cook also learning sign language she lead in the deaf ministry as well as Good Members Shepherding, attended a Bible study group led by Pastor John Morris from Grace Community Church for over 14 years. Always a faithful prayer warrior until the day she left this earth. She was a natural evangelist and loved to lead people to Jesus. She would say “whatever you do, don’t miss heaven!” One of her favorite scripture verses, Joshua 24:15 “But as for me and my house, we will serve the lord.” and she did so joyfully and with grace. Patricia was a lifelong Democrat and a supporter of Fair Labor practices. She loved her friends and family and valued relationships, while investing in lives with truth, love and encouragement, always leading by example for others to do the same. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Tucker; son, Tommy Tucker; son-in-law, Cal Staggers; granddaughter, Hannah Tucker; grandson, Justin Tucker; great grandson, Thomas Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Lillie Harrigan; brothers, Willy Hurt, Robert Hurt (Edith), Tom Davis (Fayrene 1st wife) (Nina 2nd wife); sisters, Thelma McCathran (Mac), Rachel Dunavant(Sherwood), niece, Vicki McCathran, Tammie Slayton and nephew, Russ Dunavant, sister in law’s Corrine Mount (Elmore), Fran Culwell (Dale), Betty Hawn ,Beth Tucker; brother-in-law, Reagan Tucker
( Mary Estelle).
Patricia is survived by her son, Clark Tucker; daughters, Becky Staggers and Samantha Tooke (John); daughter-in-law, Libby Tucker; granddaughters, Wehtahnah Tucker, Emily Bush and Sarah Tucker; grandson, William Grady Staggers; great-grand children, Shawlin, Zoey, Madeline, Noah, Tucker, Emma Grace and great-grandchild, Royce. Nieces, Julianna Hawn-Holt, Mary Jr Huff( Rodney); nephews, Stafford Tucker, Tommy Wayne Davis(Patti), Ronnie Dunnavant(Beth Ann), Dixie Dunavant (Hope) and James Dunavant (Angie), niece, Glenda Dunavant, also many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering and visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM Thursday, February 27th at Lloyd James funeral home,
A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 28th at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg Texas. Pat Tucker’s family and friends will miss her greatly, this old world is a little less fun without her. But we have the hope of heaven… So we can’t wait to be reunited soon and very soon!
