Brook Hill girls earn first state tourney berth

The Brook Hill Guard are headed to the TAPPS Girls Basketball State Tournament for the first time.
Three Guard players hit in double figures scoring as Brook Hill defeated Fort Worth All Saints 54-36 on Friday in a Class 5A regional at Forney High School.
Brook Hill (35-6) will meet Midland Christian (28-7) in the state semifinals at 4 p.m. Thursday at University High School in Waco. The winner will advance to face either No. 2 The Woodlands Legacy Prep (28-3) or No. 10 League City Bay Area Christian at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the state championship at Waco Robinson High School.
Junior Indeya Williams had a double double with 17 points and 12 rebounds to pace BH. She also had three assists and a steal.
Juniors Zuzanna Majchrzak and Savannah Onley also were in double digits scoring with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Majchrzak added a rebound and four steals with Onley contributing five rebounds, two blocks, two assists and two steals.
Others contributing to the victory were junior Mylee Booth (4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals), junior Remy Tonroy (3 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals) and senior Lila Morris (1 point, 3 rebounds, 1 steal).
Brook Hill moves to 35-6 overall on the season. The team is on a seven-game winning streak.
The Brook Hill Guard includes: No. 1: Brenna Hill, guard, senior; No. 2: Karmen Miller, forward, senior; No. 3: Remy Tonroy, guard, junior; No. 4 Bridget Speerly, guard, freshman; No. 5 Victoria Agullo Lorido, guard, freshman; No. 10 Savannah Onley, forward, junior;No. 11 Lila Morris, guard, senior; No. 14 Landrie Fite, guard, freshman;No. 22 Ania Chwalbinska, guard, senior;No. 24 Indeya Williams, forward, junior;No. 31 Mylee Booth, forward, junior; and No. 33 Zuza Majchrzak, guard, junior.
