Tyler Legacy, Whitehouse hosting baseball tourney

The Tyler Legacy and Whitehouse Baseball Tournament is set for this weekend at Mike Carter Field and Whitehouse High School.
Thursday’s schedule at Mike Carter is Midlothian Heritage vs. Bullard, noon; Tyler Legacy vs. Bullard, 3 p.m.; and Tyler Legacy vs. Decatur, 6 p.m.
Thursday’s schedule at Whitehouse is Kilgore vs. Crandall, noon; Whitehouse vs. Crandall, 3 p.m.; and Whitehouse vs. Pleasant Grove, 6 p.m.
Friday’s schedule at Mike Carter is Decatur vs. Bullard, noon; Decatur vs. Midlothian Heritage, 3 p.m.; and Tyler Legacy vs. Midlothian Heritage, 6 p.m.
Friday’s schedule at Whitehouse is Pleasant Grove vs. Crandall, noon; Pleasant Grove vs. Kilgore, 3 p.m.; and Whitehouse vs. Kilgore, 6 p.m.
On Saturday at Mike Carter, the No. 1 seed from Mike Carter and No. 2 seed from Whitehouse will play at noon. The No. 2 seed from Mike Carter and No. 1 seed from Whitehouse will play at 3 p.m. The winners will face off at 6 p.m. for the championship.
On Saturday at Whitehouse, the No. 4 seed from Mike Carter and No. 3 seed from Whitehouse will play at noon. The No. 3 seed from Mike Carter and No. 4 seed from Whitehouse will play at 3 p.m. The winners will meet at 6 p.m.
TYLER LEGACY 6, NACOGDOCHES 3
Legacy scored six runs in the first two innings on the way to a 6-3 victory over Nacogdoches on Monday at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Mike Carter Field.
Cale Zips had a triple and three RBIs. Payne Hotman, Nolan Hable, Jaden Davis and Owen Harrison all had a hit. Davis drove in two runs.
Davis, Dallas Walker, Cole Kimmel and Knox Scudder all pitched, combining for nine strikeouts.
WHITEHOUSE 18, ALL SAINTS 0
WHITHEOUSE — Whitehouse used an 11-run fourth inning to put the game away in an 18-0 win over All Saints.
Jojo Adams homered and drove in five runs. Tye Davis had three hits with a triple. Joshua Henry doubled and drove in five runs. Ben Reed had a double. Winn Harriss had two hits.
Harriss allowed no runs on one hit with five strikeouts and one walk in three innings. Joshua Cowart and Mason Johnson each pitched an inning and combined for five strikeouts.
GRACE COMMUNITY 15, MINEOLA 5
MINEOLA — Grace Community scored six runs in the first two innings and eight more in the final two to take a 15-5 win over Mineola.
Lawson Livingston had two hits with a triple. JT Williams and Garrett Smith each had two hits with a double. Smith, Luke Wallace and Sam Reeves all drove in two runs. Reeves had a double.
Williams, Gavin Wupperman and Wallace combined to strike out seven batters.
WEST RUSK 4, FRANKSTON 2
FRANKSTON — Kullin Tavarez struck out 10, walked one and allowed one earned run in four innings to lead the West Rusk Raiders past Frankston 4-2.
Cole Jackson fanned three and walked one in two innings, and Jason Reasoner walked one and gave up one earned run in an inning on the hill.
Troy Hunley doubled once and singled twice to lead the Raiders on offense. Tavarez doubled and drove in two runs.
TROUP 18, ELYSIAN FIELDS 13
ELYSIAN FIELDS — Troup scored four runs in the top of the seventh to pull away from Elysian Fields for an 18-13 win.
Nunu Kennedy had three hits and two RBI in the loss for Elysian Fields. Cole Parker had two hits, John Beavers a triple and two RBI, Braedan Adkins two RBI and Spencer Scott one RBI. Brody Parker struck out five and walked six in 3.1 innings. Evan White had four strikeouts and five walks in three innings.
OVERTON 11, LAPOYNOR 9
LARUE — Braxton Harper doubled twice and drove in five runs, and the Overton Mustangs took control of things with a seven-run sixth and three more in the seventh to rally for a 11-9 win over LaPoynor.
Mason Rowe tripled, singled and drove in a run. Bryson Bobbitt added a single and two RBI, and Jacob Osburn, Gabe Miller and Jason Beasley all drove in runs. Bobbitt struck out six and walked three in 4.2 innings, and Harper struck out five with eight walks in 2.1 innings.
Kalvin Harris had two hits for LaPoynor. Case Partridge and Markus Kennedy each had a double.
Kaden McKinley allowed one unearned run with 10 strikeouts in five innings. Christian Lambert struck out four in 1.2 innings, and Jameson Klutts had a strikeout.
TYLER HEAT 9, UNION GROVE 3
UNION GROVE — Tyler HEAT scored five times over the last two innings on the way to a 9-3 win over Union Grove.
Judson George had two singles in the loss for the Lions. Porter Yohn struck out five and walked four, Jacob Griffin fanned three and walked two, Ryder Martindale struck out four and walked three and George had two strikeouts and three walks.
