Brook Hill wins district title, collecting win No. 100 for Coach Hubbard

Brook Hill, ranked No. 4 in TAPPS 5A, will open the girls basketball playoffs on Tuesday night at home.
The Guard (33-6) will host Lubbock Trinity Christian School at 6 p.m. at the Herrington Sports Center in Bullard.
Before reaching the postseason, Brook Hill won the TAPPS District 2-5A Tournament.
The Guard opened with an 85-2 win over Brentwood Christian in a game it led 63-0 at halftime.
Savannah Onley had 21 points, five rebounds and five steals. Mylee Booth had 17 points, for rebounds and three assists. Remy Tonroy had 15 points, 10 assists and six steals. Landrie Fite had 12 points and three steals. Zuzanna Majchrzak had 8 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Indeya Williams had 4 points, four rebounds and four steals. Lila Morris had 3 points and three assists. Senior Brenna Hill, who tore her ACL in October, got to play at the end of the game and hit a 3-pointer. Karmer Miller had 2 points and nine rebounds.
In the district championship, Brook Hill held on for a 52-48 win over Hyde Park.
The Guard led 14-4 after the first quarter, 28-18 at halftime and 40-29 after three quarters.
Onley had 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Morris had 9 points and eight rebounds. Tonroy had 9 points and three assists. Williams had 7 points, six rebounds and two steals. Booth had 7 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Majchrzak had 5 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
It is the first outright district championship in program history for the Guard.
The Guard wrapped up the regular season with a 56-38 win over TAPPS Class 2A No. 1 Dallas First Baptist Academy. It marked the 100th win of head coach Jereme Hubbard’s career.
The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to face either TAPPS 5A No. 3 Fort Worth All Saints or Tyler Grace Community in the next round.
