TROUP — The Tigers had a big fourth quarter as Troup rallied for a 63-50 win over the Sabine Cardinals on Tuesday in a District 16-3A basketball game.



The Tigers improved to 23-7 overall and 9-3 in district, while the Cardinals fell to 10-19 and 5-7. Troup advances to the bi-district playoffs next week.

After being tied 28-28 at halftime, Sabine led 41-39 entering the final period. The Tigers then outscored the Cardinals, 24-9, in the fourth quarter.

Three Tigers were in double figures — Braxton Barton (13), Keenan Foster (12) and Caden Graves (12).

Also scoring for Troup were Carter Graves (9), Bryce McElroy (6),Tre Anderson (6), Carson Davenport (3) and Michael Burns (2).

The Tigers hit eight 3-pointers — Carter Graves (3), Anderson (2), Davenport (1), Foster (1) and Caden Graves (1).

Hudson McNatt led Sabine with 30 points. Also scoring for the Cardinals were Dalton Taylor (8), Dekoda Davis (4), Colt Sparks (4), Mike Overturf (2) and Myles Bradley (2).

McNatt had three 3-pointers with Taylor adding two.

The Tigers were 11 of 14 at the free throw line and the Cards were 3 of 6.

Troup won the JV game 44-41.

CHAPEL HILL 58, CARTHAGE 50

CARTHAGE — The District 16-4A champion Chapel Hill Bulldogs completed league play with a 58-50 win over the Carthage Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Chapel Hill, ranked No. 25 in the state, improved to 29-5 on the season and 13-1 in district. CHHS will be in bi-district action next week.

Jordyn Bradshaw led Chapel Hill with 24 points, while Isiah Mayfield had a double double (12 points, 11 rebounds). Bradshaw had a 3-pointer.

Also scoring for CH were Jorden Ford (11), Trevor Brooks (5), Dee Brisbon (3), Ryder Steele (2) and Anthony Smith (1).

Ford had seven steals with Bradshaw (2), Mayfield (1) and Smith (1) adding blocks.

MABANK 69, BROWNSBORO 62

MABANK — Mann Scott had a game-high 30 points for the Bears, but the Mabank Panthers held off the Brownsboro rally for a 69-62 win on Tuesday in a District 15-4A game.

Mabank goes to 21-8 and finishes second in district with an 8-4 record. The Bears end their season at 13-17 and 4-8.

Scott added four 3-pointers.

Others scoring for the Bears were Keaton Delaney (18), Gabe Hendricks (6), Peyton Brockway (4), Jacob Fulgham (2) and Lane Shaw (2).

Delaney added three 3-pointers.

Carter Sims led Mabank with 18 points, followed by Luke Carter (17), Daylon Gibbs (12), Ty Perkins (8), Rev Neighbors (6), Kaden Penland (6) and Jayden Colin (2).

Hitting 3-pointers were Sims (3), Gibbs (2) and Carter (1).

Mabank won the JV (49-36) and Frosh (49-38) games.

HALLSVILLE 74, TEXAS HIGH

HALLSVILLE — LV Williams led a balanced Hallsville scoring attack, and the Bobcats closed out the regular season with a 74-65 District 10-5A win over Texas High.

Williams had 17 points, David Baliraine 15 and Grayson Magestro 10 for Hallsville, which led 41-24 at halftime. Camron Bean finished with nine points, Kyeson Lewis eight, Gabe Moore five and Kobe Gaut and Chris James four apiece.

Hallsville, 25-9 overall and 11-5 in the district, will open the playoffs at 7 p.m. on Monday against Lovejoy at Athens High School.

Texas High (15-13, 9-7) is tied with Tyler High for fourth place. The two teams will play for a playoff berth at 7 p.m. Friday at Marshall High School.

MADISONVILLE 45, CENTER 36

CENTER — The Madisonville Mustangs used a 21-9 run in the third quarter to take control and held on for a 45-36 win over the Center Roughriders on Tuesday.

Tim Johnson finished with 14 points to pace Center. JaKevin Robinson added eight, Caleb Mosley five, Travis Belin four, JaKalen Barnes three and Jimarrion Smith two. Johnson also had five rebounds, two assists and three steals, Smith 10 rebounds and four blocks and Robinson five rebounds.

BROOK HILL 68, FIRST BAPTIST 45

Majus Afanasjev scored 21 points, Roy Rudzinskas added 16 for the Guard, and Brook Hill captured a 68-45 win over Dallas First Baptist Academy on Tuesday.

Holt Robertson added 10 for the Guard, which outscored First Baptist 20-1 in the second quarter to build a 39-17 halftime lead. Luke McNeel added eight points, Beck Langemeier six, Zac Ryle four and Cam Ryle three.
