The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation recently celebrated its 2025 grant recipients. Among the 53 nonprofits receiving funding from BBCF this year are local nonprofits 4Kids4Families and East Texas Food Bank.

A total of $125,000 was awarded to nonprofits and educational foundations across Texas and Louisiana during a check presentation ceremony hosted by BBCF.

4Kids4Families oversees foster care case management in the Piney Woods region of Texas. This is a contract and service of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), previously managed by Child Protective Services (CPS). The organization ensures that children in foster care from Region 4 receive safe, stable placements as well as the necessary services they need.

“We are deeply grateful for the support from the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation,” said Belen Casillas, Director of Community Relations at 4Kids4Families. “This grant will enable us to continue providing essential services to children and families in East Texas.”

For more than 100 years, Brookshire Brothers has made charitable contributions to aid in the fight against food insecurity and in support of programs and initiatives focused on education and the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves, according to Melissa Crager, Public Relations and Corporate Responsibility Manager of Brookshire Brothers, Inc.

Funded by Brookshire Brothers’ generous vendor partners, the charitable foundation has given away more than two million dollars over the past two decades.

4Kids4Families’ mission is to ensure children and families receive the care and services they need. For more information, please visit 4Kids4Families.org.

Also a recipient, the East Texas Food Bank serves approximately 208,000 households in 26 counties throughout East Texas, covering nearly 20,000 miles.
