The Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders are one win away from clinching the TAPPS 4A District 3 basketball championship.



The Lady Crusaders (14-9) host the Dallas Christian Lady Chargers (8-8) on Tuesday at Haddad Gymnasium on the Bishop Gorman Catholic School campus. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Gorman is 5-0 in district and Dallas Christian is 3-1.

BG is coming off a 62-27 win over All Saints Episcopal on Friday at Haddad Gym.

Halle Lowe led the Lady Crusaders with 18 points.

BULLARD 57, HUDSON 55, 2OT

HUDSON — Sophomore Lila Robertson scored 40 points to spark Bullard to a 57-55 double-overtime win over Hudson, clinching a playoff berth in District 17-4A.

The Lady Panthers are 18-11 overall and 5-2 in district. The Lady Hornets at 11-19 and 2-5.

Following Robertson in scoring for Bullard were Savanna Lewis (5), Aariyah Campbell (4), Lanna Kidd (3), Allison Edwards (3) and Emmalee Neuhaus (2).

Lewis, Kidd and Edwards hit 3-pointers.

Bullard plays host to Center at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. Hudson plays at Palestine on Tuesday.

BROWNSBORO 45, LINDALE 26

BROWNSBORO — The Brownsboro Bearettes clinched a playoff berth with a 45-26 win over Lindale on Friday in a District 15-4A basketball game.

The Bearettes are 18-11 overall and 5-5 in district. Lindale is 15-13 and 6-3.

Chyann Stidham and Tiykeah McKenzie led Brownsboro with 12 points apiece.

Others scoring for the Bearettes were Bradie Cooper (6), Emma Scott (5), Sadie Piper (5), Ava Johnson (3) and Riley Smith (2).

Madison Devisscher led the Lady Eagles with nine points. She was followed by Ella Hutchens (4), Ava Grogan (3), Ma’Kaylin Smith (3), Kaylea Williams (3) and Kennedy Miller (2).

Brownsboro will play in Kemp Tuesday and Lindale will host Canton.

Chapel Hill 51, Henderson 30

NEW CHAPEL HILL — R’Nyah Henderson and Ayana McGill Gardner each scored 12 points to power the Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs to a 51-30 win over the Henderson Lady Lions on Friday in a District 16-4A basketball game.

Chapel Hill (20-9) maintains its lead in district with a 10-1 record. Henderson is 12-13 and 6-4.

Tomlinson had a double double to go along with her 12 points as she grabbed 10 rebounds. She also had three steals.

Also contributors for the Lady Bulldogs were Lorena Taylor Fuentes (8 points, 5 rebounds), Necie Johnson (6 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals), Aryssa Cooper (5 points, 8 steals), Dinya Griffin (4 points, 8 rebounds), Rylee Steele (2 points) and Ja’Leyah Davis (2 points, 5 rebounds).

Chapel Hill plays in Tyler against Cumberland at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. Henderson plays host to Gilmer at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

WINNSBORO 61, RAINS 32

WINNSBORO — Hadlee Brown led all scorers with 20 points in Winnsboro Lady Raiders’ 61-32 win over Rains on Friday, clinching the District 12-3A championship.

The No. 3-ranked Lady Raiders (TABC Hoops) held a 25-23 lead at halftime, but held the Lady Cats to just nine points (all in the fourth quarter) in the second half.

The victory extends the Lady Raiders district win streak to 62 games.

Their last district loss occurred against Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, the defending state champion at the time, on Jan. 24, 2020.

Winnsboro (28-3, 10-0) is scheduled to visit Martin’s Mill in a non-district game on Tuesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:20 p.m.

Rains (26-4, 7-2) is slated to host Commerce at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in Emory.

TROUP 39, GLADEWATER 31

GLADEWATER — The Troup Lady Tigers defeated Gladewater, 39-31, on Friday to clinch second place in District 16-3A.

Troup is 22-6 on the season and 8-2 in district. The Lady Bears are 8-13 and 5-4.

Qhenja Jordan led the Lady Tigers with 23 points and 14 rebounds. She was followed by Jakeira Davis (11), Paisley Skinner (4) and ZaQuirah Jordan (1). Jordan, who had five steals, hit five 3-pointers with Skinner adding one. Davis had five steals.

Gladewater was paced by Peytin Thompson with 12 points.

Troup will have Senior Night on Tuesday as the Lady Tigers play host to the West Rusk Lady Raiders. Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m. Gladewater visits Tatum at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

PITTSBURG 57, BONHAM 40

PITTSBURG — Gina Mackey led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points, and the Pittsburg Lady Pirates improved to 4-3 in District 14-4A play (23-6 overall) with a 57-40 win over Bonham.

Randieunna Jeffery finished with nine points for Pittsburg, which used a 20-6 run in the second quarter to pull away. Nataly Gonzalez had eight points, Camryn Mackey, Jakyra Fletcher and Vivianne Marquez six apiece, Aubrey Chalmers five and Era Osornio one.

TATUM 63, ARP 27

ARP — Kamdyn Scott scored 22 points to go along with seven steals, five rebounds and two blocks, and the Tatum Lady Eagles improved to 9-0 in District 16-3A play (19-6 overall) with a 63-27 win over Arp.

Aundrea Bradley finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Lady Eagles. Kaleigh Hooker chipped in with nine points, nine assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks, Addyson Saunders six points and six rebounds, Rhianna Harris five points, seven rebounds and two steals, Alecia Halton four points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals, Alayah Creer three points and seven rebounds, Patience Price two points, three assists, two rebounds and three steals, Kyndal Greenwood two points and four rebounds and Saniya Cotton two rebounds.

SABINE 37, WHITE OAK 20

LIBERTY CITY — Kaitlynn Sanchez poured in 17 points, and the Sabine Lady Cardinals blanked White Oak in the first quarter on the way to a 37-20 District 16-3A win.

Ella Dot Phillips added nine points for Sabine, which led 18-7 at halftime. Madison Pierce chipped in with five points, Autumn Rhodes four and Sarah Roberts two.

HARMONY 42, NEW DIANA 33

HARMONY — The Harmony Lady Eagles jumped out to a 12-3 lead after one quarter and led 20-11 at halftime on the way to a 42-33 District 13-3A win over New Diana.

Mally Davidson paced Harmony with 14 points. Rendi Seahorn and Triniti Mauk added 10 apiece, Evie Helpenstill six and Kenner Pylant two.

Jolie Ballard finished with 16 points, four rebounds and four steals for New Diana in the loss. Taryn Reece added 15 points, five rebounds and five steals, and Bailey Tennimon chipped in with two points and two rebounds.

JEFFERSON 78, DAINGERFIELD 16

DAINGERFIELD — Janaa Goynes scored 21 points, three other Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures and Jefferson rolled to a 78-16 District 13-3A win over the Daingerfield Lady Tigers.

Stormi McNeil had 16 points, Keinysa Wallace 15 and Jazmyne Luster 15 for Jefferson. Jordyn Davidson chipped in with nine, and Destiny Kelly had seven for the Lady Bulldogs, who led 40-14 at halftime and outscored Daingerfield 29-0 in the third.

McNeil added 16 rebounds, six steals and three blocks, Wallace 13 rebounds, Luster eight rebounds and six steals, Davidson five rebounds, five assists and nine steals and Goynes three steals.
