Tracking the offseason moves by every team in the AL West

After failing to make the playoffs following their first World Series championship, the Texas Rangers spent big this offseason. They made several additions to their lineup and to their bullpen through free agency and trades.
The Rangers (78-84) finished third place in the American League West in 2024 behind the Seattle Mariners (85-77) and the Houston Astros (88-73) who won the division for the seventh time in the past eight seasons.

The fourth and fifth place finish belonged to the Athletics (69-93) and the Los Angeles Angels (63-99).

Outlook: According to Spotrac only six teams in the MLB spent more money than the Rangers in free agency. The team hopes that big-name additions like Pederson, signed as a free agent, and Burger, acquired in a trade with the Miami Marlins, can help turn around an offense that ranked near the bottom of the league in runs (18th), home runs (18th) and batting average (21st) during the 2024 season.
