The other charges, tampering with evidence and tampering with a human corpse, were considered and dismissed, Weiner said.
Dalan Clowdus along with his father Steven Clowdus and William David Hux were arrested in May 2022.
Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said Oldfield was shot and killed, and he was then buried in a hand-dug grave on his property. Hillhouse also said Oldfield’s truck in several pieces at another residence off of Highway 85 outside of Seven Points.
Steven Clowdus was sentenced to 50 years in prison for Oldfield’s murder after a November 2024 jury trial. Hux’s case remains pending at this time.
