BENTONVILLE — Linda Kay Hammons, 77, peacefully passed away in her sleep on December 8th, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Originally from Jacksonville, Texas, Linda led a full and well-traveled life, leaving a lasting impact on so many with her kindness.
A pioneer in East Texas banking since the mid-70s, Linda dedicated herself to the industry until her retirement as a Texas Bank Examiner in 2013. Beyond her professional life, she found solace in tending to her immaculate garden, showcasing the greenest of thumbs.
Fondly known as “Dobble,” Linda’s nurturing spirit, wisdom, and boundless love enriched the lives of her children and grandchildren. She is remembered fondly by her surviving children, Scott Seay of Arkansas and Tamara Seay Dunlap of Alaska, along with her grandsons, Cody Seay of Arkansas and Hunter Dunlap of Colorado.
Preceded in death by her parents Earl and Aline Hammons, her brother Wayne Hammons, sister-in-law Sandra Hammons, and daughter-in-law Lori Seay.
Linda’s journey will be celebrated in a forthcoming event in May in Tyler, Texas. Details for the Celebration of Life will be shared closer to the date, honoring her memory with the scattering of her ashes in both Jacksonville, Texas, and the picturesque Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
