Girls Soccer: Tyler Legacy goes 3-0 at The Woodlands

The Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders went 3-0 to open the season at the Lady Highlander Invitational in The Woodlands.
The Lady Raiders opened with a 3-2 win over Class 6A Region 4 No. 3 San Antonio Reagan.

Lily Beckham delivered the hat trick. Bella McNeil had two assists, and Briana Garcia assisted the other goal.
Legacy led 1-0 halfway through the first half and Beckham scored again about five minutes later to make the score 2-0. Reagan got a goal with a minute left in the half to make the score 2-1 at halftime.
After multiple saves by Legacy goalkeeper Aisha Touray, Beckham scored her third goal to make the score 3-1 before Reagan tacked on a goal late.
Legacy followed with a 5-0 win over Klein Cain.
Garcia had two goals. Freshman Bryleigh Gamble scored her first career goal on a header on a cross from Beckham. Beckham had a goal and two assists. McNeil scored on a 30-yard free kick. Megan Wilhite and Mia Ledesma each had an assist.
Touray and Emory Benkowski combined for the shutout in goal. Defensive standouts were Joy Bryner, Sydney Allen, Wilhite, Alaia Privett and Melanie Martinez.

The Lady Raiders capped the weekend with a 5-1 win over Montgomery Lake Creek.
Gamble and Beckham scored first-half goals.
McNeil scored just more than three minutes into the second half to make the score 3-0. Lake Creek scored to cut the score to 3-1 before goals about a minute apart from Gamble and Garcia.
Gamble had an assist to go with her two goals. Beckham had two assists, and Ledesma added an assist.
Legacy (3-0) will return to action Thursday in the Forney Tournament. The Lady Raiders will face Mount Pleasant at 1 p.m. Thursday.
