Brook Hill girls win Lady Saints tourney

DALLAS — In a matchup of two of the top girls basketball teams in TAPPS, the Brook Hill Guard scored a 50-49 win over host Dallas First Baptist in the championship game of the Lady Saints Christmas Classic on Saturday.

Brook Hill’s Indeya Williams was named tournament Most Valuable Player, averaging 18 points and nine rebounds per game.
Guard teammates joining Williams on the all-tourney team were Remy Tonroy, Savannah Onley and Lila Morris.
In the championship game, Williams had a double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds. She added four blocks and two steals.
Olney added 16 points with two blocks and two steals.
Other Guard contributors were Landrie Fite (4 points, 1 rebound), Mylee Booth (2 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal), Karmen Miller (2 points, 7 rebounds), Morris (1 point, 8 rebounds, 3 steals) and Tonroy (5 assists, 3 steals, 3 rebounds).
In the semifinals on Friday, Williams made a free throw with 0.3 seconds showing to give the Guard a 46-45 win over Kennedale Fellowship Academy.

In the first game on Thursday, Brook Hill downed Watauga Harvest Christian, 67-22.
Four guard players scored in double figures — Tonroy (17 points, 3 of 6 from 3-point line, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals), Williams (17 points, 8 steals, 3 rebounds), Booth (12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals) and Fite (11 points, 3 steals).
Also contributing were Onley (7 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) and Morris (3 points, 4 rebounds).
Brook Hill, ranked No. 3 in TAPPS 5A with a 22-5 record, returns to play on Friday, taking on Dallas Christian at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The boys teams follow at 2:30 p.m. Later that night, the Dallas Mavericks will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
