Boys Basketball Notebook: Tyler’s Jaishua Brown takes weekly honor

Tyler’s Jaishua Brown has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Boys Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Dec. 16-21.
Brown averaged 31.0 points, 9.5 rebounds 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 3.5 blocks per game against Whitehouse and Nacogdoches.

Against Whitehouse, Brown scored 41 points with six 3-pointers and going 5 of 5 at the free-throw line. He also had 11 rebounds, three assists, five steals and three blocks.
In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):
Tyler Legacy’s Ja’Corian Oes averaged 25.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game against Royse City and Longview. Jayden Jones averaged 16.0 points and 3.0 steals. Zyere Ceasar averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.
Grace Community’s Daniel Shankle averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals against Jefferson and Kemp. Doak Porter averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals against Jefferson, Leverett’s Chapel and Kemp. Peyton Kelly averaged 12.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals.
Brook Hill’s Beck Langemeier had 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a win over Douglass.
Van’s Caden Rowe averaged 21.0 points and 12.0 rebounds, and he had 30 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in a win over Spring Hill. Kamron Jones had 17 points and was 5 of 8 on 3-pointers in a win over Brownsboro.

Jacksonville’s Ben Bolton averaged 25.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
Hawkins’ Derek Hollman had 14 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a 52-17 win over Harmony.
Rains’ Franki Payne averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals against Winnsboro and Community.
