Lady Raiders remain unbeaten in District 10-6A play; Red Raiders drop league opener

In a battle of first-place teams, the Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders took a 41-27 win over Royse City on Tuesday night at Tyler Legacy Varsity Gymnasium.

Legacy is now the only undefeated team in District 10-6A competition.

The Lady Raiders led 6-5 after the first quarter and trailed 18-13 at halftime before outscoring Royse City 15-2 in the third quarter to grab a 28-20 lead.

New Mexico State signee Senoj Jones led the way with 19 points. Holland Pine hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points. Zareya Ceasar had all of her 7 points in the second half. Grace Mills and Madison Farmer each had 2 points.

Legacy (17-2, 3-0) will play at Longview (13-2, 1-1) on Friday.



BOYS

The Red Raiders dropped their District 10-6A opener on the road to Royse City, 69-67, on Tuesday night.

Ja’Corian Oes had 32 points and 14 rebounds and was a perfect 3 of 3 from 3-point range.

Jayden Jones scored 14 points. Zyere Ceasar had 11 points.

Other scorers for Legacy were Gage Nukcolls 5; Josh Hall 2; Tyler Henry 2; and JP Rainer 1.

Nuckolls had five rebounds, six assists and two steals, and Rainer had two steals.

Legacy (9-10, 0-1) will host Longview (7-6, 0-1) at 7 p.m. Friday.
