PORT ARTHUR — Caden Bell hit for 18 points to lead four Apaches in double figures as Tyler Junior College scored a 77-75 win over Lamar State-Port Arthur on Saturday in a Region XIV Conference basketball game at the Carl Parker Center.

TJC improves to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in Region XIV. The Seahawks fall to 4-8 and 1-3.
Also scoring in double figures were Chris Uwayo Jr. (14 points), Joey Brown (13) and Luis Gil (10).
Uwayo was 11 of 13 from the free throw line.
Others scoring for TJC were Josiah Hill (7), Trey Calloway (5), Zander Frazier (4), Jeremiah Lewis (3), Rahman Olajuwon (3) and Ahmed Jwao (1).
Darel Reece led Lamar State with 18 points. He was followed by Zion Young (17) and Ke’Andre Jones (16).
The Apaches’ next game is scheduled for Jan. 4 against Coastal Bend College at Wagstaff Gymnasium on the TJC campus. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
