Legacy basketball goes 3-1 in Forney

Tyler Legacy went 3-1 in the Forney Tournament.

The Red Raiders opened with a 68-59 win over Frisco Reedy. It’s Legacy’s second win over Reedy this season, taking a 71-60 victory on Nov. 21.

Jayden Jones led the way with 30 points and six rebounds. Ja’Corian Oes had 19 points and 13 rebounds. KJ Cyres scored 7 points. JP Rainer had 4 points and six rebounds, and Zyere Ceasar added 2 points and seven rebounds.

Legacy then fell to Crandall 69-55. The Red Raiders defeated Crandall 90-54 in the season opener.

Oes had 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals Gage Nuckolls had 8 points and five assists. Other scorers were Jones 7; Ceasar 7; Rainer 5; Cyres 2; and Tyler Henry 2.



Legacy then took a 64-54 win over Prosper Walnut Grove, avenging a 69-47 loss to Walnut Grove 69-47.

Oes had 21 points and 15 rebounds. Jones had 16 points. Nucjolls had 7 points, five reboundsand six assists. Other scorers were Josh Hall 8; Ceasar 5; Henry 3; Rainer 2; and Cyres 2. Cyres also had five assists.

Legacy finished the tournament with a 67-52 win over Frisco Wakeland.

Ceasar poured in 21 points. Oes had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Nuckolls had 12 points, six assists and three steals.

Other scorers were Jones 7; Henry 6; Cyres 4; Bryson Perkins 2; and Hall 2.

Oes was named the Tournament MVP, and Nuckolls earned All-Tournament honors.

Legacy’s next home game will be Dec. 20 against Longview.
