TJC, Lions, Lady Raiders at home

TJC, Tyler High and Tyler Legacy will have home basketball games in the Rose City on Tuesday.

APACHES

The Tyler Junior College Apaches meet Paris at 7 p.m. at Wagstaff Gymnasium.

TJC (7-3 overall) is 1-1 in Region XIV after scoring a win over Navarro (87-82 on Thursday in Tyler) and suffering a loss to Trinity Valley (78-46 on Saturday in Athens).

Paris (7-3 overall) is 1-1 in league play as well with an opening conference loss against Bossier Parish (63-55 on Wednesday in Bossier City, Louisiana) and a win over Blinn (71-52 on Saturday in Paris).



Leading the way for Tyler vs. Navarro were Joey Brown (19 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds) and Luis Gil (17 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds). Caden Bell (15 points) and Jeremiah Lewis (11) were also in double figures for the Tribe.

In the loss to No. 1 TVCC, Gil led the Apaches with 11 points. Brown (9 points) and Bell (8 points) followed.

LADY RAIDERS, RAIDERS

The Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders are 14-2 on the season and open District 10-6A play against Rockwall-Heath (7-9).

Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Tyler Legacy Varsity Gymnasium.

The Lady Raiders are coming off a 3-1 record in the Clay Cooley Tournament in Mesquite. Legacy scored wins over Madisonville (65-28), North Mesquite (52-23) and Mesquite (61-56) before falling to Amarillo (49-27). The loss to the Sandies snapped a 10-game winning streak.

The Red Raiders (7-9) travel to Hudson to meet the Hornets (7-4) in a non-district game. Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.

The Red Raiders were 3-1 in the Forney Tournament with wins over Frisco Reedy (68-59), Prosper Walnut Grove (64-54) and Frisco Wakeland (67-52) with a loss to Crandall (69-55).

LADY LIONS, LIONS

The Tyler High squads host Jacksonville in a District 10-5A doubleheader at the Lions Den.

The girls game is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by the Lions and Indians at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Lions Coach Bobby Reynolds has 199 career wins after his team placed third in the Royse City Tournament with a 3-1 record. After falling to Sunnyvale (51-49) in the opening game, the Lady Lions won three straight games — 58-31 over Terrell, 60-38 over The Colony and 50-43 over Lucas Lovejoy.

The Lady Lions are 12-4 on the season and 3-0 in district. The Maidens are 14-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.

The Lions are 9-5 on the season and 1-0 in district. The Indians are 3-8 overall and 1-0.

The Lions were 2-2 in the Royse City Tournament with wins over Rockwall BigTyme Prep Academy (67-54) and Dallas Skyline (57-48) with losses to Dallas Bishop Lynch (54-49) and Frisco Liberty (79-62).
