Lions go 2-1 in Mavs Fall Classic

Mavs Fall Classic

FRISCO — After dropping their first game on Friday, the Tyler Lions bounced back to capture two wins and advance to the consolation final of the Green Bracket of the Mavs Fall Basketball Classic.

The Lions (4-1) are scheduled to play district rival Texas High (3-1) at noon Saturday at the Frisco Independence High School campus.

After falling in the first game to Grapevine, 41-32, Tyler rallied to score wins over Venus (66-38) and Carrollton Creekview (82-42).

Texas High dropped a game to Frisco Centennial (71-65) before scoring wins over Katy Taylor (62-46) and Seagoville (71-52).

Lufkin is in the Blue Bracket. The Panthers won over San Antonio Jefferson (72-54) before falling to Plano East (69-65). Lufkin bounced back for an 84-65 win over Keller.



The Panthers (3-1) are scheduled to play Red Oak at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Frisco Panther Creek.

LADY LIONS

The Tyler Lady Lions split games on Friday in the Crandall Tournament.

Tyler won over Richland (53-35) before falling to Mansfield Summit (65-61).

The Lady Lions are scheduled to play Fort Worth Eagle Mountain (9:30 a.m.) and Hurst L.D. Bell (3:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
