Arp hosting girls basketball tournament

The Arp Invitational Tournament will begin Thursday at Arp High School and Arp Junior High.

The girls basketball tournament will feature eight nine schools.

Thursday’s schedule at the main gym is Mount Enterprise vs. Grace Community, 8 a.m.; Athens vs. Frankston, 10 a.m.; Arp vs. Grace Community, noon; Brownsboro vs. Frankston, 3 p.m.; and Athens vs. Carlisle, 5 p.m.

Thursday’s schedule at the junior high gym is Arp vs. Cumberland Academy vs. Arp, 8 a.m.; Brownsboro vs. Palestine Westwood, 10 a.m.; Carlisle vs. Cumberland Academy, noon; and Mount Enterprise vs. Palestine Westwood, 3 p.m.

Bracket play will take place on Friday and Saturday. The Silver Championship is set for noon Saturday, and the Gold Championship is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.



The Tyler Legacy Lady Raiders will play in the Conroe Oak Ridge Tournament beginning Thursday. They’ll face Alief Hastings at noon and Klein Cain at 3 p.m. Thursday before taking on Tomball Memorial at 3 p.m. Friday.

The Tyler Lady Lions are competing in the Crandall Tournament this weekend — Friday: 11 a.m. vs. Richland and 5 p.m. vs. Mansfield Summit; and Saturday: 9:30 a.m. vs. Saginaw Eagle Mountain and 3:30 p.m. vs. Hurst L.D. Bell.

The Tyler Lions are slated to take part in the Mavs Fall Classic this weekend in Frisco. Tyler is scheduled to play Grapevine at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Frisco Reedy High School’s auxiliary gym. The Lions will play either Frisco Reedy or Venus in the next round. If Tyler wins, the Lions will play at 6 p.m. Thursday Reedy’s auxiliary gym. If the Lions lose, they will play at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Reedy competition gym.
