John Soules Foods receives award



Tyler-based John Soules Foods has been awarded Performance Food Group’s (PFG) Industry Partner of the Year – Further Processed Poultry Award. This prestigious honor is presented annually at the National Foodcentric Experience event and recognizes the top industry supplier demonstrating continuous advancement, innovation, and exceptional support to customers and partners.

Key factors in John Soules Foods’ selection for this award include its growth across five exclusive brand lines, strategic partnerships, and active participation in national initiatives, such as Foodcentric, the Center of the Plate Summit sponsorships, and national marketing efforts, according to a press release from the company. The increases in pounds for each brand line are as follows:

In 2024, John Soules Foods achieved a fill rate of 98.9%, significantly surpassing the industry benchmark of 96%, thereby providing essential stability to its customers.

Wilson joins Scarborough real estate

UT Health welcomes Ghanshyam Ghelani

UT Health East Texas is expanding oncology services in Tyler with the addition of Ghanshyam Ghelani, MD.

Dr. Ghelani is a highly skilled and compassionate oncologist specializing in hematology and medical oncology, according to UT Health. His dedication to both teaching and patient care allows him to contribute to both academic and clinical advancements in the field.

HIDEAWAY LAKE — UT Health East Texas is expanding family medicine services in Hideaway Lake with the addition of Karen Bowery, APRN, FNP-BC, who sees patients 5 years and older.

Bowery, APRN, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner with over 20 years experience. She brings a deep understanding of healthcare to her practice. She began her career as a mental health provider, diagnosing and treating patients of all ages, from children to geriatric, in the East Texas region.

Driven by her passion for primary care and internal medicine, Bowery now focuses on treating adults and elderly patients. She manages both acute illnesses and complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension, congestive heart failure and thyroid disorders.
