As trick-or-treaters walked through the Azalea District on Halloween night, they were greeted by ghosts, pirates, witches, skeletons and minions.

At the Tyler Halloween House at 1208 South College Avenue, a long line formed to go through “The Wizard of Oz”-themed house and receive cotton candy. As people went through the line, they were greeted by the Wicked Witch of the West, Courage the Cowardly Lion, Oz and Glinda the Good Witch. A video played showing clips from “The Wizard of Oz.” In the end, trick-or-treaters left happily with cotton candy.

Owned by Matthew and Ashly Mellor, the College Avenue home goes all out for Halloween each year, as it is their favorite holiday and their decor is a way they to involve the community.

Other houses had inflatable ghosts, tombstones, cobwebs. At one house, a giant spider decorated the house. At another home with a pirate theme, trick-or-treaters were greeted by a mermaid.

People of all ages went trick-or-treating along the red bricked roads wearing costumes from scary movies, cartoons and television shows including Bluey, Barbie, Miraculous Ladybug, Iron Man, Snow White, Chucky and Scream. Residents handed out candy dressed in costumes including Mike Wazowski from “Monsters, Inc.”
