Cougars capture 24-0 win over Lions

ARLINGTON — Bradon Alexander rushed for 136 yards to help spark the Grace Community Cougars to a 24-0 win over Arlington Grace Prep on Friday in a TAPPS Division II District 2 football game at the Lions’ home field.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved to Friday after a forecast of inclement weather on Saturday, Grace Coach Tim Russell said.

The Cougars improve to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in district, while the Lions fall to 1-8 and 1-5.

Alexander carried 21 times and also scored a TD.



Quarterback McCade Stinson hit on 9 of 11 passing attempts for 109 yards and a touchdown. He added 52 yards on nine carries.

Ayle Hecht had three carries for 16 yards and a TD.

JT Williams caught the TD pass from Stinson. He had three catches for 59 yards. Other Cougar receptions were by Doak Porter (3-35), Ryder Welch (1-11), Justus McQuay (1-3), Hecht (1-1) and Alexander (1-0).

The Cougars return to action on Friday, Nov. 8, traveling to Dallas to meet the Bishop Dunne Falcons in a 7 p.m. contest.

The Lions play host to Fort Worth Atlas HomeSchool on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m.
