Daniel Tatham
TYLER — Daniel Louis Tatham, born on July 25, 1944, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024. Born and raised in California, Daniel moved to Tyler, Texas in 1982, where he became a beloved member of the community.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea, Dan pursued his passion for cars. He owned a successful car business in California before relocating to Tyler, where he opened Tyler Auto Body in 1985. For nearly 40 years, Dan’s craftsmanship and dedication to restoring vehicles made his business a local favorite. Beyond his work, Dan’s greatest joys in life were his grandkids, his love for Dr. Pepper, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and cheering for the LA Rams. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and passion for all things automotive.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Ira L. Tatham, his mother, Hester R. Tatham, and brother-in-law, Tom McDonnell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Tatham, his children: Shawn (Jennifer) Tatham and Julie (Allen) Townsend, his six cherished grandchildren: Avery, London, Lofton, Finley, Addison, and Olivia, and his sisters: Jan McDonnell, Carol (Curtis) Shanklin, and Sharon Tatham.
A service to honor Dan’s life will be held at Rose Heights Church on Tuesday, October 8th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rose Heights Church Building Fund.
