The annual Neal McCoy and Friends concert benefitting the East Texas Angel Network brought people from around the area, state and the country to Longview on Saturday evening, raising money for the country music singer’s charity.
This year marks the 30th year of the East Texas Angel Network, which helps pay secondary expenses such as travel and wage loss to families who have a child battling a serious or life-threatening medical condition. This year, McCoy joined country star Mark Wills and comedian Bill Engvall for the annual concert — the charity’s largest and most widely known fundraising event. It took place at the Belcher Center at LeTourneau University.
McCoy told the audience that money raising during the weekend’s activities, which included a golf tournament and silent auction, would bring the amount of money the organization has raised during its lifetime to roughly $13 million.
