TYLER 48, SEAGOVILLE 7: SEAGOVILLE — Tyler continued its momentum from last week’s win, rolling to a 48-7 win over the Seagoville Dragons on Friday at James Ray Henry Stadium.

The Lions improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Dragons fall to 0-3.

After Cadarius McMiller went straight up the middle on the third play of the third quarter on a 48-yard dash, a running clock was used. Marvin Espinal made the PAT to give Tyler a 42-7 lead.

Quarterback Caden Granberry tossed four TD passes and threw for 244 yards. He hit on 17 of 22 passing attempts.

McMiller had 99 yards rushing on six attempts. Arriaga had eight carries for 49 yards.



The Tyler defense was outstanding, holding the Dragons to minus eight rushing and 29 passing for a total of 21 yards.

The Lions finish out the non-district slate on Friday, Sept. 20, hosting the Lufkin Panthers at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Earl Campbell Field.

VAN 28, LINDALE 23: VAN— Jaxon Moffatt and Austin Moffatt combined for four touchdowns as Van held on for a 28-23, non-district win over neighboring Lindale at Van Memorial Stadium on Friday night.

Lindale opened the scoring with a 30-yard field goal by Seth Baggett, but Austin Moffatt scored on a 4-yard run early in the second to put Van on top.

A 36-yard TD run by Hayden Gately moved Lindale back in front at the 7:19 mark of the second quarter, but Jaxon Moffatt’s 62-yard scoring dash again moved Van in front.

With 2:12 left in the second quarter, Chad Ward scored on a 40-yard pass from David Lindig, and Lindale led 17-14 at halftime.

Easton Hinch hauled in a 15-yard scoring pass from Jaxon Moffatt with 7:37 left in the fourth, and a 30-yard TD run by Austin Moffatt with 1:59 left gave the Vandals a 28-17 lead.

Ward’s 40-yard run with 1:26 remaining capped the scoring.

P. GROVE 42, DAINGERFIELD 6: TEXARKANA — The Pleasant Grove Hawks raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead on the way to a 42-6 win over the Daingerfield Tigers on Friday.

The Hawks scored on a 31-yard run in the first quarter and added a 29-yard fumble return for a TD and scoring runs of 6 and 3 yards in the second frame.

Daingerfield got on the board with 6:28 left in the third on a 12-yard TD run on the second play from scrimmage after the break. The first play was a 65-yard pass from Chase Johnson to Kenny Mosley.

Pleasant Grove put things away with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

Daingerfield (0-3) will host Center and Pleasant Grove (2-1) will visit Kilgore on Friday.

GLADEWATER 32, W. RUSK 20: NEW LONDON — Luke Brown scored the game’s first and last touchdowns and the Gladewater Bears scored from short yardage and on a long kickoff return in between on the way to a 32-20 win over the West Rusk Raiders on Thursday at Bruce Bradshaw Stadium.

Brown scored on a 1-yard run at the 4:05 mark of the opening quarter to give the Bears a lead they would never lose. Brayson Woods added a 2-yard run for Gladewater early in the second quarter, and then Trayvion Watts returned the second-half kickoff 90 yards for a TD to put the Bers on top 19-0.

Cole Jackson, who rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns for West Rusk, put the Raiders on the board with a 2-yard run at the 8:42 mark of the third, but Mason Budro scored on a 1-yard run late in the period to give the Bears a 25-7 cushion.

Jackson scored on a 1-yard run with 17 seconds left in the third and added a 2-yard TD run midway through the fourth to keep West Rusk in the game, but Brown’s 17-yard scoring jaunt with 17 second remaining in the game put things away for Gladewater.

FRANKSTON 17, GRAPELAND 14: FRANKSTON — Frankston built a 17-0 halftime lead and held off a rallying Grapeland for a 17-14 victory on Thursday night at Jeff and Opal Austin Stadium.

On the drive standout Tyler Rogers went out with an injury, the Indians continued to march as Hicks, A.J. Donnell, Davis Holladay and the offensive line got the ball inside the 10, where Donnell ran in a 6-yard touchdown to give Frankston a 7-0 lead with 2:08 left in the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Grapeland got to the Frankston 25, but the Indians came up with a fourth-down stop as A.J. Donnell and Zaylyn Donnell made a tackle for loss.

Following a 50-yard punt by Carson Bizzell, the Indians got another stop on fourth down.

Later in the second quarter, the Indians took over on their own 32 and needed just two plays as Bizzell connected with A.J. Donnell for a 21-yard gain and then Reese Hicks broke free for a 47-yard touchdown run to push the score to 14-0 with 2:43 remaining in the half.

The Indians added a 26-yard field goal by Coleman Merritt as time expired to take a 17-0 lead into halftime.

Hicks finished with 12 carries for 104 yards for the Indians. A.J. Donnell ran for 50 yards, threw for 26 yards and had 21 yards receiving. Davis Holladay had four receptions for 64 yards.

Kit’Raviunce Gilmore led Grapeland with 17 carries for 94 yards. Bryson Johnson ran for 43 yards and threw for 69 yards. Ja’Keavion Bruins had seven receptions for 45 yards for the Sandies.

Frankston (2-1) will host Scurry-Rosser on Sept. 20, and Grapeland will host Groveton.

ALTO 55, H-DAISETTA 0: ALTO — Camdyn Almond completed all 10 of his pass attempts for 242 yards and four touchdowns, Zach Battle turned all three of his carries into touchdowns and the Alto Yellowjackets rolled to a 55-0 win over Hull-Daisetta.

Almond threw TD passes of 75 yards to Anthony Battle, 40 yards to Tim Bond, 31 yards to Jamarion Rollins and 7 yards to Aiden Holmes. Bond finished with four catches for 118 yards.

Battle scored on runs of 35, 18 and 8 yards, and Almond also rushed three times for 51 yards and a TD.

U. HILL 54, ETHS 6: E.J. Mowery rushed for three touchdowns and passed for three more, leading the Union Hill Bulldogs to a 54-6 win over East Texas Homeschool on Friday in Six Man action.

The game was called at halftime due to Six Man’s mercy rule.

Mowery completed 10 of 12 passes for 179 yards and also booted six extra points.

Cayden Elledge caught two passes for 71 yards and a TD. Payton Dunn caught four passes for 51 yards and a score and rushed for one TD, and Dakota McCoy had one catch for 1 yards and a touchdown.

SUB VARSITY

LONGVIEW: The Longview JV A team battled Rockwall-Heath to a 21-21 tie in Rockwall on Thursday.

Key’Marion Pickron had a 90-yard kickoff return for a TD for the Lobos. Jacorian Stevenson added a 2-yard TD run and threw a 25-yard TD pass to Anthony Huffman.

Felipe Ayala was 3 for 3 on extra points.

The JV B team earned a 24-16 win.

Keiuntrae Talley scored on an 8-yard run and added a 2-point conversion. Brandon Cavazos had a 4-yard TD run and a pair of two-pointers, and Aaron Ashley tossed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Sean Davis.

The Lobo 9th grade A team fell 64-60 to Heath.

Jaden Hurndon returned kickoffs 70 and 91 yards for scores, caught TD passes of 21 and 32 yards from Jacaiden Davis and added a 2-point pass reception from Davis.

Davis scored on runs of 1 and 52 yards. JaKelvin Muckleroy had TD runs of 1 and 13 yards and three 2-point conversion runs. Khoen Evans scored on a 1-yard run, and JaKai Mitchell added a 2-point conversion run.

Longview’s 9th grade B team fell 14-0 to Heath. Jamarion Hunter had an interception for the Lobos.

Forest Park’s 7th and 8th grade teams fell to Boulter on Tuesday. The 8th grade suffered a 38-8 loss and the 7th grade lost 26-6.

For the 8th grade, Jereon Warren had 4 carries for 25 yards, Maddox Esparza three catches for 40 yards and a 70-yard kickoff return for a score, Keontae Jackson 40 passing yards and a 2-point conversion, Elijah Mondragon three tackles, Llbrealon Bell a fumble recovery and Kaydon Wright four tackles.

For the 7th grade, Messiah Williams rushed for 40 yards, Jeremiah Darden rushed for 32 yards, Javonte London carried eight times for 110 yards and a TD, Williams passed for 20 yards and Kyson Saddler had one catch or 20 yards. Issac Jennings finished with five tackles, Elijah Gutierrez six tackles, Sadler a fumble recovery and Williams a forced fumble.
