“We have a set standard at Lindale,” senior defensive back Hudson LeGrow said. “We’re always striving to exceed that. That’s just how our coaches are and we love that about them. We’re hoping and expecting to play better each and every year. We want a deeper playoff run, better games, more wins and everything like that.”
LeGrow was joined by senior kicker Seth Baggett and senior wide receiver/defensive back Chad Ward at a fall sports media day at the CHRISTUS Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute on Aug. 1 to talk about the upcoming season.
“I say the key is us sticking together as a team,” Baggett said. “This offseason really brought us together, just working hard together all summer.”
“We want to start out tough,” Ward said. “All offseason, we’ve been working on toughness and starting fast. If we start out fast and hard like we usually do, we should have a great season just like last year.”
The Eagles went 7-5 overall and 5-1 in district play last season, falling to Iowa Colony, 45-22, in the area round of the playoffs.
LeGrow had 44 tackles and two interceptions last season. Ward had 31 catches for 636 yards and eight touchdowns.
