Fireworks celebrations, Juneteenth Rodeo and more in East Texas this weekend

If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend in East Texas, check out this list of local events.

Family Fireworks Celebration, 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, South Springs Baptist Church, 17002 U.S. Highway 69 in Tyler. This annual celebration features family fun including food trucks, inflatables, bounce houses, and kids activities along with a fireworks show that will begin once the sun goes down. Blast Over Bullard, 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Bullard High School, 1426 S Houston St. in Bullard. There will be vendors, food and activities for all ages including live music. All the events will lead up to a fireworks show after dark. Also part of the event is the Kids Bike Brigade. Interested participants should be at Bullard High School to register by 6 p.m. that night. O’ Malley Alley Cat Benefit Car Show, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, True Vine Brewing Company, 2453 Earl Campbell Pkwy, Tyler. There will be coffee, pastries and breakfast items from Sola Bread Co. along with vendors and a food truck. The entry fee is $25. Texas African American Museum African American Music Appreciation Month Festival, 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, The Kingdom Church, 1723 N Church Ave, Tyler. Celebrate with a concert with Demarcus Walker and Friends and a ceremony to honor Lina Wade, the 2024 recipient of the TAAM Arthur ‘Dooley’ Wilson African American Music Month Award. Longview Juneteenth Rodeo, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Longview Fairground Rodeo Arena, 110 Grand Blvd., Longview. There will be cowgirls and cowboys competing in barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, bull riding, wild horse relay races and more.
