If you don’t like our country, leave it
Today I again heard college students shout “death to America.” I want to send them away immediately. People in Germany, Russia, Africa, etc. see America as the land of opportunity. Their lack contrasts the abundance in America. The restrictions they endure magnify the freedom in America.
The land of the free, America, came with a price.
The disgruntled American citizens should volunteer at veterans hospitals and read books such as written by Chaplain Major General USAF Robert Preston Taylor [Days of Anguish, Days of Hope] and Retired Chief Petty Officer John F. Kidd [Twice Forgotten].
As Prisoners of War, these two men and many other military, received unbelievable treatment by the Japanese. Words on paper cannot adequately convey the indignities suffered by Taylor and Kidd as well many other men and women.
Those disgruntled with the USA should instead be thanking the soldiers – male and female – who give you the privilege of expression. Otherwise, leave.

We are all accountable
For the first couple of years of his presidency, I was gullible, making the mistake in many op-eds by claiming that Donald Trump’s sins were in large part due to his policies and political ideology. How wrong I was!
Watching the New York criminal trial and Trump’s untruthful — and incessant — daily discourse in response, we now know that his sins are about his indecency, inhumanity, selfishness and lack of morality.
I never thought I would say this, but for those who still support Trump no matter what he does, says, or how many felony convictions he receives, your soul is on the line. This includes nearly all Republican congressional leaders who, despite the ongoing criminal cases against two Democratic politicians and President Biden’s son, erroneously assert that the New York legal case against Trump was purely political, having been orchestrated by President Biden and his Justice Department.
Make no mistake. You can pray all you want. You can spread propaganda acquired from news networks beholden to Trump rather than reporting the truth. However, doing so will not make you less accountable. Like Trump, we all are accountable and will be judged by our words and deeds.
