Poseidon Power Washing announced a groundbreaking project that it said will revolutionize the way buildings are cleaned in Tyler.

The expert team will undertake the task of cleaning the historic six-story Tyler Chamber of Commerce building using cutting-edge drone technology at 8 a.m. June 1.

The building was constructed in 1938 by Hugh E. White in the art deco architectural style, is located at 315 N. Broadway and is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

There will be a tent set up with food and refreshments from local businesses for onlookers to enjoy.

“This groundbreaking approach has already sparked discussions throughout the town, with residents and city leaders alike eagerly anticipating the sight of drones soaring through the sky to safely restore the Chamber of Commerce building to its former glory,” the press release stated.

The drone technology is likened to having the cleaning wand suspended in the air, cleaning the side of a building with eco-friendly, water-based soaps and solutions. The technology eliminates the need for boom lifts, scaffolding and suspending workers from the roof as exterior cleaning is safely managed from the ground.

This method is useful to clean midrise office buildings, hotels, apartments, hospitals, government buildings and churches, bringing more safety for workers and faster completion times.
