Tyler Legacy entered Friday night needing three things to happen to secure a spot in the high school baseball playoffs.
The first thing on that list was defeat Rockwall in the regular season finale.

After an RBI triple by Landon Miller with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Legacy a 3-2 lead, the Red Raiders appeared to be one step closer to the postseason. However, Rockwall scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning on the way to a 9-3 victory at Mike Carter Field.
The loss ends the Red Raiders season at 12-4-3 overall and 4-8 in District 10-6A play.
The other parts of the equation Legacy needed to get into the playoffs were Mesquite Horn to lose to Royse City and North Forney to lose to Rockwall-Heath, which was undefeated in District 10-6A. Rockwall-Heath defeated North Forney 7-1, and the game between Mesquite Horn and Royse City was postponed to 1 p.m. Saturday (Horn won 3-2). But with Friday night’s results, Horn (6-6) secured the fourth and final playoff spot in 10-6A. Rockwall-Heath (12-0), Royse City (6-6) and Rockwall (7-5) are the other playoff teams from the district.
Rockwall took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Wisconsin quarterback commit Landyn Locke. The Red Raiders turned a double play on Jake Overstreet to end the inning.
Cooper Moore didn’t allow a baserunner the next two innings, and Miller had an RBI single in the bottom of the second for the Red Raiders to tie the game.
Roockwall went back ahead in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI triple by Dylan Cheek. The Red Raiders answered in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single by Miller.
