CHANDLER — Graveside services for Willard Hastings, 81, of Chandler, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Concord Cemetery, with Chaplain Jason Driskell officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hastings passed away on April 15, 2024, in Chandler.
Willard Earl Hastings was born in Matador, Texas, on August 30, 1942. He was the son of Sidney Earl Hastings and Ida Lou (Allen) Hastings-Tinsley. Willard worked as a master plumber in the East Texas area for over 30 years. He loved spending time outside in his garden, drinking beer, and playing pool. Willard was affectionately called “Pop” by his grandchildren, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His boisterous and funny personality made him unforgettable to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Hastings; and two brothers, Leroy Hastings and Wayne Hastings.
Survivors include his children, Tamara Grinrod and husband John of Chandler, Thomas Sigler of Chandler, Michelle Reece and husband Russell of Chandler, and Kim Blackmon and husband Billy of Larue; his brother, Johnny Hastings and wife Jody Murphy-Hastings of Silver City, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.
