Softball Notebook: Mineola’s Jadelyn Marshall, Rusk’s Sarah Boudreaux take weekly honors

Mineola’s Jadelyn Marshall and Rusk’s Sarah Boudreaux have earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Softball Player of the Week honors for games played April 8-13.
Marshall is the Pitcher of the Week, and Boudreaux is the Hitter of the Week.
Marshall pitched a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Harmony. She had 13 strikeouts and two walks in five innings. Marshall surpassed the 300-strikeout mark for her sophomore season.
Boudreaux hit .667 with four home runs, 11 RBIs, four runs and a walk. She hit grand slams in consecutive at-bats and three home runs total in a win over Palestine. She added another home run against Hudson.
In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):
PITCHING
Brook Hill’s Karmen Miller had 15 strikeouts and three walks while posting a 2.00 ERA.
Hawkins’ Kalyn Ellison pitched nine innings with 18 strikeouts and three earned runs allowed.
Grand Saline’s Hannah Aaron went 2-0 with 17 strikeouts and a 2.50 ERA in 14 innings.
Bullard senior Anistyn Foster pitched 11 innings with 19 strikeouts and a 1.90 ERA.
Whitehouse’s Elli Green allowed no runs on three hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk in seven innings.
Troup freshman Carli Hays pitched seven innings, picking up two wins and allowing no runs on four hits with 14 strikeouts and a walk.
HITTING
Tyler Legacy’s Reese Neely went 5-for-8 (.625) with a double, six RBIs and two runs. Kylee Tapia went 3-for-5 (.600) with a home run, a triple, an RBI, six runs, four walks and a stolen base. ReNaa Hicks went 4-for-9 (.444) with a triple, RBI, four runs and a stolen base.
Brook Hill’s Piper Moore hit went 3-for-4 (.750) with a double.
Hawkins’ Ryli Williams went 7-for-8 (.875) with a home run, two doubles and 10 RBIs. Taetum Smith went 4-for-5 (.800) with a triple, two walks, six runs and three stolen bases. Allyson Mathews went 5-for-7 (.714) with two doubles and three runs scored. Londyn Wilson went 5-for-7 (.714) with a triple, a double, two RBIs, four runs and a stolen base. Karsyn Johnson went 4-for-6 (.667) with a grand slam, two doubles, nine RBIs, four runs and a stolen base.
Mineola’s Kaitlyn McMahon went 2-for-2 (1.000) with four RBIs.
Grand Saline’s Gracie Jo Currey went 6-for-9 (.667) with four doubles, three RBIs, three runs and a stolen base. Aubree Kindle went 5-for-9 (.556) with a triple and two RBIs.
Bullard sophomore Denim Boles went 5-for-9 (.556) with three home runs (two against Franklin), a double, seven RBIs, five runs, two walks and a hit by pitch.
Whitehouse’s Analee Becerra went 3-for-3 (1.000) with a double, two RBIs, four runs, four walks and three stolen bases.
Jacksonville freshman Ryan Ramirez went 4-for-5 (.800) with two RBIs, five runs , three walks and four stolen bases.
Troup junior Taylor Gillispie went 6-for-9 (.667) with three doubles, five RBIs, five runs and five stolen bases. Freshman Shiloh Sluder went 3-for-6 (.500) with a triple, an RBI, three runs, a hit by pitch and a stolen base. Senior Sydnie Dickey went 2-for-4 (.500) with a double, a triple, five RBIs, two runs, three walks and one stolen base. Senior Bailey Blanton went 2-for-4 (.500) with a double, two RBIs, four runs, two walks, two hit by pitches and four stolen bases.
